Vogue Italia July 2021 : Monica Bellucci & Deva Cassel by Paolo Roversi

So much better than whatever the hell they've been doing for the last few months, an actual name photographer, good subjects and the layout is not invasive/ugly. Deva is very beautiful, I don't resent her presence.

D&G paid for this. She has beauty or perfrum contract with them and they push her in European fashion magazines.

I'd like this better if this was Deva by herself.
But Vogue Italia is so rundown at this point, and nepotism just reinforces that.

She’s a pretty girl but she’s not a model, she’s not even a celebrity model. I would put her into the same category as Lila and Lottie Moss. Average girls with famous families. I wouldn’t buy this issue personally, but I’m sure many women who are the same age as the subjects will. Take that as you will.

Can't see many 16-year-old girls or fiftysomething women being into what Vogue Italia is offering these days. And I can imagine Monica's audience being composed of a number of men d'une certaine âge. Maybe the daughter will be an added draw.

On that note, how is Farneti going to explore his chosen theme this month of "being 16" when magazines aren't supposed to be using underage models, and there's all sorts of misinterpretations to be had when producing content about young girls?

An issue dedicated to "being 16"? I feel this issue will be full of nepotism models/celebrities' children...

I said before that I don’t like her and it still is the case. Very trashy and cheap D&G look, an outdated sexuality - old cougar mother who tries to push her Lolita daughter onto a rich dude and set herself up too, not a beautiful confident woman and her child in a fashion magazine. Monica is an Italian icon, but she always looks so vulgar, like Cindy does too. I’d love for literally anybody switch up her make up and fashion at least once.

Isn't condé nast suppose not allow underage girls on it's cover? That rule was ridiculous then and just shows how they plan to use it. This is just one of examples.

I took a look at issue... Vogue is lacking so much fashion it's painful to watch.

Others editorials aren't even worth the look. They are plain catalogue (like many others this title is doing today). This magazine is suppose to be a reference.

Yes this is sad for July, the composition on both covers is awful and Roversi must have had food poisoning or something because he was off his game here but what is that black flower, why do they never stop with these unnecessary elements they call art direction? Being 16? No?

I think it's a sort of (artificial, of course) black camellia/winter rose under which is written "Being 16". Although the black is not the most fortunate colour when it comes to flowers, in Italian culture roses in different hues (than red) represent love, admiration and good fortune.

Thanks for the explaination! I thought it was a hairball tbh

You're welcome! :flower:

Btw, the whole issue (except the L'UOMO part/supplement) is dedicated to a "sweet sixteen", which is the main reason I'm not posting any other ed except the cover story…
