Vogue Italia July 2023 : Kim Kardashian by Rafael Pavarotti

This cover shot has been up and down more times than... a pair of trousers.

(I'm having to censor myself in case I'm forced to look back at my comments in a future where you can't say anything.)

It's like the Lada Gaga Vogue Italia cover from 2019, I'm interested in this edition... when it pretends to be what it was.

Rafael has restrained himself.

I like the way the cover is yellow already, for that vintage vibe. That Vogue Italia off-white patina.

I don't remember my reply from the deleted thread but her face looks AI generated in these

Hate to admit that I do like the cover but I don’t care about whatever she has to say/promote.

Besides the cover, I don’t really like any of the other photos. She needs to chill on the EmRata facial injections… they’re making her look like a mutant Real Housewife

Love the cover and ed though I wish she was facing a little lower on the cover or if her laugh was a little more expressive 90s supermodel style. Love or hate her but her and Kylie always deliver in print.

'It's always about timing. If it's too soon, no one understands. If it's too late, everyone's forgotten.' - Anna Wintour

The choice to give Kim Kardashian her first Vogue Italia in 2023 is such an obvious sign of desperation. Furthers my belief that a VI cover no longer means anything. Who can respect a magazine that aims to be a storyline on a Kardashian episode?

The cover is not bad, it's just such a cliche and absolutely nothing fresh or interesting that makes you want to see more. The previews too are terribly mediocre. This level of content is best left for some random Elle edition.

Rafael has restrained himself.

I prefer restrained Rafael then!

It’s fine I quite like it actually despite obvious context. But some of them shadows/contouring on her face be weird asf

^^^ Just amateur post-production with Rafael as usual. She looks like Beyonce on the cover select.

The tight-cropped shot of her looking more like Monica Bellucci x Naomi would have made for a strong cover.

So tired of Rafael blatantly ripping off everyone from Meisel/Roversi/Testino to now, Watson— and then just applying a lazy overlay with amateur post-production to everything. He was much more interesting when he was shooting for Vogue Brazil and before he discovered PS. Italia now has just become his class project where he copies the Greats-- with all the grace and refinement of a 4yo and fingerpaint.

Love it! But hate the fact she lost an arm, that bother me alot.

it’s ok, there’s some glamour and the pictures are not bad I guess.

I feel like Kim is not on a hype right now so it does seems a little weird to be giving her a cover.

The cover is bland, but i think the edit is a little bit better. Very Albert Watson's style.
