There was Naomi on the cover of November 1999 issue and then Liya Kebede for January 2004.

Even with the Gucci dress, I feel nothing towards this. I guess I should be pleased to see Naomi, although she's not exactly delivering. And I don't blame that on Naomi either. It's covers like this when I miss their 2008 approach. When the shots had that little something extra.
