Another fabulous display from Vogue Korea! My favourite out the two covers is the first one, which instantly reminded me of Linda Evangelista's cover of Vogue Italia from June 2008 in terms of colouring. It's gorgeous, love the lighting, Veronika's pose, the minimal art direction - love every last thing!

Incredibly racist comment.

Imagine I said the same thing about an Asian model or a black model? My post would get deleted immediately. In fact, I made a comment in the Allure thread about how narcissistic is was to have a whole issue dedicated to "Melanin." That got deleted REAL fast.

But saying such negative and derogatory things towards white people is not only acceptable these days, it seems to be encouraged!

How many editions of Vogue are there with white models each month? Vogue Korea is one of the few Vogue editions out there that are from a non-white country. The fashion industry is very white-dominated, so no you’re not going to be oppressed when someone questions why another white model is on the cover of yet another magazine. Of course, the editing team at Vogue Korea are in charge of who gets on the cover but people have the right to question things.

I don’t personally have an issue with this model or the fact that she’s on the cover but you’re being obtuse to a pretty obvious situation. Diversity in the fashion industry has definitely improved but there’s a long way to go.

Btw, dedicating one issue to Melanin is necessary because it’s painfully obvious that for most months of the year, it’s people who DON’T have darker skin tones that get to be featured in every issue. The editor in chief of Allure is also a black woman, hence she also wanted that representation for at least 1 issue in a year. If you’re really angered by that, I’m sure you can just pay attention to the 80-90% of magazine covers that feature white models.

It's a great thing that both of Veronika's covers are stunning since this is such a weak issue for Vogue Korea. Most of their editorials this month are fainéant.

304 pages with 15 editorials. This issue looks more like Vogue US (with a hint of Vogue Paris because of Veronika's photo shoot) than Vogue Korea.
