Well I got this issue today (finally) and I have to say I have mixed feeling about the renovation.
It is totally different from what Vogue Paris Collections was before. Now it's more "fun". There is new sections about trends, backstage, beauty and also a article feature of Anna Dello Russo. But these for me, doesn't feel like they belong here in the collection issue. They are more like regular features which should be put in every issue of Vogue Paris, the ADR feature is definitely a go for Une Fille, Un Style.
And for the collections pictures, they changed the style from very catalog-ish to collage-ish. Before it was just the looks from the shows (front angle) but now they also include detail shots, close-ups and back angle photos. And the lay out is more like those trend report section other magazines will do (UK Elle Collections or UK Vogue catwalk session for example). I have mixed feeling for this part the most. Since I pay quite a lot of money to buy this magazine for my fashion show collection I choose Vogue Paris Collections because it provided a rather completed range of shows and their looks in the book so I can collect them as complete as I can. But now, they reduce this part: big shows have 2 page of 15-18 looks each (before it was 4 pages of over 30 looks each), smaller shows have only 1 page. And no short show review now and no designer profile photos.
Indeed, the new layout and arrangement is more fun but it gives less feeling of a collection book for me since it's so expensive. Call me conservative but I would rather to have as many looks as possible for each show. The fun part can leave to other title (I think UK Elle Collections does a good job on this and the price is half of Vogue Paris Collections. Of course I know Elle Collections only have incomplete looks for around 15 shows each issue).
The accessories pages are more or less the same as before.
I took some snaps from the new issue and you can see what I mean by their new layout.
