Vogue Paris April 2013 : Isabeli Fontana by Mario Testino

What a waste of such a beautiful background. It could be better.

when does this come out? will i be able to buy the last issue in france before the end of next week? (was hoping to buy both while i am there :P)

^The issue hits French newsstands on March 22, this upcoming Friday. You should be able to find the March issue on stands Thursday, I would assume. Most European stores tend to keep issues out a few days over - I have known that to occur.

After I've had a few days to digest the cover (that sounds ridiculous), I know what the one problem I have is. It's Emmanuelle's styling. Ditch the horrendous hat, earrings and whatever else is attached. It's far too literal. Isabeli's cover from June/July 2011 wasn't as blatant as this. The styling had no relevance towards Greece and that's how it worked. From the picturesque location, the Dolce & Gabbana outfit and cover-lines, we can assume this is a Peru themed issue.

Hopefully, Erin's ed is better, because so far Isabeli's and Kate's look disappointing to say the least.

I think both Isabelis and Kates edits look fab, nice to see Kate in different styling, excited to see more and esp Erins edit.

This is wrong in so many levels. A bad photography and styling work and the only thing that could save it, its not really there. They could have used the stunning landscape as background but instead, they have so many studio pictures (there shouldnt be one on the first place).
I hope the rest of the editorials are better because this is a huge step back from the last few issues.

The cover as i already said is horrible but the editorial seems great, i love all the pics, especially the ones with Kate

I like Kate's preview, but still not really my cup of tea...

This issue just seems so lazy, so far. It's kind of pathetic that Testino, as a Peruvian, isn't showing or promoting Peru in a nuanced way. He's just hitting all the stereotypes left and right. Just lazy.

Kates  pics are gorgeous & yes her second pic would have made the better cover

Oh look its Kate Moss wearing yet another countries traditional clothing, all sign of life airbrushed out of her!

The editorial previews just deepened the wound that is the cover.

I'm astonished that a shot of Kate Moss wasn't used for the cover. The first close-up shot would have made a fantastic cover, I think. But as I mentioned before, the picturesque landscape behind Isabeli is fascinating, so I'm not complaining about that. Just stunned Emmanuelle favoured Isabeli over Kate.

I must admit that the previews seem very exciting. Although I'm not motivated over the clothes or abilities of the Vogue Paris editors.. I'm more interested to see what Peru has to offer. I do hope that as more of the content surfaces, we are treated to a wonderful insight.

The main story is horrifying and absolutely tasteless. Emmanuelle has proved how bad she is as a stylist (and EIC). I don't blame Isabeli, though.

Their Rio-themed issue was glorious... This one is such a hot mess.
