Vogue Poland May/June 2020 : Jac Jagaciak by Zuza Krajewska

Looks like the EIC forgot to check his inbox for the #VogueValues memo back in January, and rushed this through.

Nice to see her on the cover, but it is weird a bit. Since the act of breastfeeding is already unusual for a Vogue cover, they should've chosen a cover-friendlier photo, for example - one where she's looking at the camera.

Looks so cheap and vulgar.

Cheap yes, the styling and layout look lazy and pedestrian... vulgar, definitely not. We've been seeing breasts in fashion for years in a sexual manner and nobody chooses vulgar as an adjetive due to the "sex sells" cliché.

I like the idea of showing this specific area of maternity in a Vogue cover... but yeah, could have been done tastelfully.

I really like the cover, I like the look of the styling and have always loved the highly glamourised mother images. I always think of the fantastic Lydia Hearst image of her breast feeding twins by Steven Klein. I don’t agree with the Vulgar remark though, it’s breastfeeding, it’s hardly like she’s having sex (not that sex is vulgar at all) or rolling around in trash on the cover.

Yikes, all these images are supposed to be from the same edit? Fair enough the second one looks hazy in a cinematic way, but I'm not sure how it ties in with the rest. This edit looks like it's trying to be everything to everyone at the same time and that's usually a recipe for disaster.

Also, that baby's eyes remind me of the demonic children in Village of the Damned.

Ahh, Jac! It's been a while since I last saw her. So happy she's back (was she even gone?)!
The cover is absolutely stunning. Slightly controversial with a touch of good old glamour! I do wish her suit was better since it looks rather cheap. A cream blush tweed suit from Chanel would've been a better (and much more glamorous choice).

It's like post-partum depression as portrayed through a fashion editorial. All dressed up with nowhere to go.

I think that's exactly what they were going for (or at least I hope so) and that's what makes it so great in my eyes. It reminds me of all the good old Miles Aldridge editorials or the ones Klein and Meisel did for American Vogue with Amber Valletta looking detached from reality in her expensive designer clothes. Always loved that vibe! This is exactly what I needed in those drab months  Can't wait to see more!

O-M-G, what an AMAZING observation!

P.S. aracic, hun, did I ever said I love you?

Could it be that they did it on purpose to give it a more SciFi-cinematic vibe instead of having to blur the baby's eyes? But on the other hand, who would do that? The picture is hilarious, I'm obsessed with it!

Miles Aldridge could this in his sleep.

"The Polish model, who returned to the world of fashion after a break of a year and a half, once again met with the photographer Zuza Krajewska on the set. Earlier they worked together on one of the most famous covers of "Vogue Polska", which was created on the streets of Chicago. This time, in front of Krajewska's lens, "Jac" poses as an elegant mother and housewife. With an impeccable hairstyle and designer clothes, she vacuums, feathers, trains, and in the meantime feeds her one and a half year-old daughter Mila. The session was created just before the outbreak of the epidemic, which found a model with her husband and child in her parents' home near Poznań. When asked if she lacks contact with people during this difficult period, she replies: - Motherhood brought natural social distancing. The model also revealed that she had not thought about professional consequences during any of the pregnancies. "Jac" tells Joanna Lorynowicz about why she is not involved in social media, about her miscarriage and her husband's family."
