Vogue Scandinavia October/November 2021 : Helena Christensen by Henrik Bülow

This magazine should've happened 20 years ago, maybe. When you had Mikael Jansson shooting for Stockholm New, a young Camilla Åkrans starting to make waves, Sølve Sundsbø a star on the rise, and Scandinavian fashion and design had a strong upward trend in general. Obviously the magazine industry was in much better health as well. I've been told that there were plans for a Vogue Scandinavia back then, not sure why it didn't happen, or if it was ever a good idea, really.

Current version is 100% Martina Bonnier's personal project. For those who don't know, her family owns the largest Nordic media conglomerate and this edition is privately financed (under license from Conde Nast). Not discrediting her background in fashion publishing, but that's some oligarch level of play.

This does more for me than last month's Greta Thunberg cover ever will, and it's wonderful to see Helena Christensen - regardless of the outcome. I happen to think this is rather beautiful and very atmospheric, can almost feel the cold weather and strong winds. No complaints over this!
