Vogue Thailand September 2019 : Gisele Fox & Sohyun Jung by Natth Jaturapahu

Yeah... who buys this? It's so ugly, I don't understand it. God , I don't even know why I bother checking their thread every month

Don't know why I read Gisele Bundchen...

Gisele is an odd model, I only liked her in her Coach SS18 Ad campaign photographed by Meisel. She is no Jaime Rishar sorry.

Poor Gisele. She already have a hard time booking Vogue covers and the one time she gets it, it's awful. Wanted to say it would be better on her own, but then I saw the solo cover.

Thank you Vogue Thailand for reminding me that this is the September Issue. Silly ageing me forgot that September comes after August. Mea culpa

They got nerve to use that “Live Love Laugh” font.

It just doesn’t work. The first cover is way too saturated and I’m definitely not liking the ‘The September Issue’ text.
Let’s not even talk about the individual covers. Those are what you call real non-eventful ones.

And in general, I think every editor of every possible Vogue edition should strive EVERY MONTH to make an unforgettable, iconic and exceptional cover/issue. I mean, it’s your job. And then they produce content like this and expect people to like it? Well, I don’t.

They are making an effort.

Art direction aside-- and for better or for worse, they seemed to have moved away from the local society set and mall aesthetic that has defined them for so long. Whether or not you believe copying the Demna/Balenciaga of Eastern Europe’s street aesthetic is an improvement— is a personal preference. I don’t think it adds anything for them. But maybe their readers like that look…

What I do sort of, kind of admire about this is how severe the women look in terms of their androgyny: they can pass for twinks, frankly. And that’s a gutsy move for a culture that’s more or less on the conservative side when it comes to how women nd men are presented. A move that I don’t even think Anna and Edward would be this daring for their Vogues. And that’s something Vogue Thailand should be commended for.

^I agree with you specially the last part, it was the first thing I noticed upon seeing the covers. I don't think it really matters whether they look beautiful or not, the androginy of the whole thing is what's more interesting imo.

I'm just going to pretend that the duo shot doesn't exist.
