I love covers of Daria, Stam and Agyness! They are the best covers of the year to me.

dont like the cover at all,but edits seem great.and i love drew, plus the inside pictures of drew are amazing!

the 2nd YSL ad is a disaster  did a car just splash a puddle over her?

love chloe and prada ...not interested in the other
It looks like she REALLY has to pee!:lol:

It sucks, though, because the other YSL ads this season are SO great!

Got my hands on my subscription copy. I'd describe this issue as "a quiet introduction to autumn". I think they're saving all the amazing stuff for the September issue and easing the reader into the new season by showing sensible, wearable things in this issue.

I found the leading edit more impressive than scans suggest; those deep colours look better on the printed page. Also, Caroline T looks great - I think any of us who say "we're sick of her", what we really mean is we're sick of seeing her incessantly in US Vogue in seemingly the same editorial. She's done some stunning images for UK Vogue in the past months, so I can't complain about her any more. I've even put one pic up on my wall. Meanwhile, Coco does her Coco thing.

If we're going to go tribal, then pairing Ieke with people from Papua New Guinea is certainly a more novel concept than sending Keira on safari, though UK Vogue portrays them as primitives when the country is a member of the Commonwealth, respects the Queen as head of state, and most speak a version of English. Just because their ceremonial costumes are made from fur and feathers doesn't make them cavemen.

The Drew article is astonishingly short; you wonder what she's doing on the cover at all. Sienna doesn't look too bad, but her and her sister... the overall effect is bland.

One thing I have noticed - if UK Vogue ever had a policy of not promoting fur, they certainly don't follow it now. British magazines, unlike their American counterparts, used to be very anti-fur, but I guess the tide has really turned in the past few seasons. First, it's just a rabbit trim, next it's a full-blown mink coat.

^ thanks for your comments. :flower: you are making me excited to receive my subscription issue (probably not until next week since i am in the USA).

I bought this issue today. Somewhat anti-climatic. It does not seem to be fashion-based in its actual content, the editorial aspects are scarse and the styling mundane. The cover image is disturbing, yet Regan, peculiarly, shot some asthetically pleasing images of her inside. A V-neck cashmere sweater and A-line skirt isnt fashion, even if it is Louis Vuitton. It echoes the daudy style of Alexander Shulman herself and reflects no sense of dyansim or creative direction. The writing and articles are commendable in themselves, but none the less, British Vogue is just not a fashion institution in the same capacity as their French, Italian or alas, American counterparts, but a boring interpretation of a weak and outdated team's perception of the collections, elitiest culture, high society, and the arts. Inspire people with Fashion Shulman, why not comission Meisel, Klein, Inez & Vindooh or even David Sims to shoot somewhat appeasing editorial content to the publication. The only redeeming aspect to the issue itself is the humility and integrity associated with the article on based upon Isabella Blow.

i thought sasha pivovarova was supposed to be on the cover of August UK vogue?

I hope that UK Vogue is saving all there amazing stuff for their Sept. issue like Tigerrouge states above, because I usually tend to be dissappointed by their "big" March/Sept. issues. I always think they're going to go all out and Shulman usually gives us more of the same with two extra deadly boring edits thrown in the mix. Like Caroline T's edit last year or a particularly drab edit by testino a few years back which I still recall for the sheer boredom it inspired in me. I just don't get the sense that they try very hard to make the Sept. issues special besides adding a few more edits.

The Papua New Guinea editorial didn't sit well with me either , but oo I love the photo of Iekeliene hugging the tree and those giant Giles Deacon knits.
