W Magazine Volume #4 2025 : Lana Del Rey by Steven Meisel

I may or may not have let out a soft scream. Is he... is he one of us? Another photoshoot with thee Lana, I'm afraid a campaign for Dolce & Gabbana should be imminent. Truly, truly beautiful! I am obsessed.

Cool, but I thought they would be models on the cover.

Peak of Chic and Beauty: Lana Del Rey looks absolutely stunning and is styled to perfection. From the beautiful Prada look (which I adore) to the marvelous color scheme, it is a perfect cover in my eyes and a must-have for me. I will be hunting and enjoying it. Bravo, Meisel!

While it's a good cover (one of the best of September), you might see the disappointment on my face at not seeing a cover with models—hell, it's the fashion issue!

The retouching is ruining most of his work these days beyond other things. I want to gag over it but it’s just so flat and boring. She also looks matronly and not in a great way in a way that ages her. I’d rather he be ultra selective with what he’s doing than doing so much with such poor results. The face on the cover doesn’t even closely match the blasted within an inch of its life one within the editorial. Overall the results are just lazy. It’s painfully obvious in the end results of all current work.

It's W, there's bound to be more covers.

Now that the stan in me has calmed down, I can produce a constructive thought about this. It is, in fact, my favourite September cover this year! It's all that I personally love about a fashion shoot, beautifully photographed and styled to perfection. She effortlessly carries the southern elegance of the beauty styling for the shoot and looks absolutely stunning throughout. I might admit I like this even better than her initial work with Meisel for Vogue Italia. However, I'm saddened that there only appear to be two more (albeit beautiful) photographs following a rather brief interview on W's website. I sure hope there is more! But regardless, I'm grateful for this wonderful treat!
