W October 2014 : Charlotte, Cara, Ellen, Kristen & Naomi by Inez & Vinoodh

Naomi´s cover Really ugly!!!!!!!!!!!!

They're definitely aiming for Catherine Deneuve with Kristen Wiig. It's more noticeable with the image that's inside the magazine.

Just goes to show you how supremely beautiful women can get away with styling that less beautiful women should never attempt!

I can't stand charlottes Gainesbourg.. It has almost nothing to go with her and everything to do with magazines shoving her down my throat. What does she do anyway?? I swear, ive not once stopped and read any of her articles.

While I'm really a big fan of hers, I can see where you're coming from. Apart from being a highly esteemed actress with famous parents, Charlotte's also a French style icon and muse to Nicolas Ghesquière. Now that he's at LV we'll see much, much more of her, so I suppose you'll have to grin and bear it.

personally speaking, what intrigued me from the beginning was her private sadness and sense of solitude from her performances. she has a quiet wealth of self-assuredness mixed with self-deprecation and humbleness, which I so admire. I first discovered her in the late 90s when I stumbled upon a late night airing of Franco Zeffirelli's, Jane Eyre on A&E. Her Jane blew me way. I started following her film career long before I ever noticed her presence in American magazines starting in the early 2000s. Her star power has steadily risen ever since.

Charlotte + Tim= Divine and why didn't they think of this before?!

I love Charlotte! she is an incredibly talented actress and musician... but everything she does with LV sort of stands against the reasons for which I like her... she's never been so mainstream (nothing wrong with that) and I liked her indie spirit... I really dislike when fashion takes over personality... for me this editorial simply doesn't work... and LV is one of the most unethical brands ever...

Hmm I got the issue today and Ladies of London is only 6 photos long (and Sam only appears in one.) The Tim Walker/Charlotte Gainsbourg edit is only 4 photos, one of them very small, and no collage as shown in post 84.

204 pages, I'd be glad to answer any questions about the issue!

it's one very boring issue for sure...
but gotta say that the main editorial works best with the magazine layout, the images alone are very dull imo but in the context of the mag they're not so "in your face" bad.

Cara resembles Britt Ekland here and I love it!

Inez and Vinoodh's story with Kendra is fabulous, a real treat for the eyes. Those vibrant colours look wonderful in the HQ's but will not doubt be let down in real due to W's paper quality. The styling is impeccable and Kendra completely steals the show.

Not their best issue, but I do love the Charlotte Gainsbourg/Tim Walker collaboration.

I'd gladly buy it just for those beautiful shots of Joan & Angelica alone

After all this time, my eyes still haven't grown accustomed to the slanted W logo on the cover.
