I’ve seen the rest on their website. I love it!!! It’s Juergen Teller doing what he does best, so most people here will probably hate it.
Brad Pitt, Joaquin Phoenix, Jennifer Lopez, Eddie Murphy, Chris Evans, Laura Dern, Adam Driver, Adam Sandler & Scarlett Johansson: WMAGAZINE.COM
The men's covers are by far the best here, particularly mad about Adam's one! It works because there's no theatrics. Whereas on the other side they've really underused Jennifer, Laura Dern looks awkward, and I have nothing to say about the Asian trans actress in the white dress.
It’s telling about Hollywood that a woman’s magazine highlighting the best performances of the year would go with mostly men.
There will likely be more people in the main edit as is usually the case, but I see your point and I don't recall so many guys on the cover in previous years. Maybe they're hoping to sell more because all these guys are big draws? Pitt and Phoenix, especially. Renee Z should've gotten a cover, as well as Jodie Turner-Smith
Oh, boy. Mixed feelings over this. Initially, I hated Brad's cover because he looks 20 years older but now I'm weirdly turned on? Guess it's just the magic of Brad Pitt. Joaquin and Chris look incredibly handsome and gorgeous, I'm totally here for it! Eddie looks like someone's uncle and it's weird, but not neccessarily in a bad sense. And I never liked either of the two Adams, so I'm not a big fan of their covers. Overall, not bad. As for the women, disaster. Jennifer looks uncomfortable and the dress is extremely unflattering. We all know how good the woman looks and this is not it. Laura Dern's shot is also unflattering and I hate everything she's wearing. Perhaps it would've had more potential if she was zoomed in only to show her from waist up. And as for Scarlett... no. The pose is horrible and her neck is mia, which doesn't do her justice. She deserved better. My favorite cover would be Chris, closely followed by Joaquin and Brad, but only because of their appeal. Photogography or styling-wise, it's just not my thing. The covers feel rather empty to me, I don't know how I feel about the new direction yet. I liked the last one better.
Usually when they do these kinda covers the male-female ratio is either even or in women's favor if I recall correctly. I suppose Charlize, Nicole and especially Margot would've appeared too if they weren't on the cover just last month. Surprised to see Lupita didn't get one!
Hahaha! I would like Brad's cover more, but the fit of those pants? Yeah, no. Not happening for me. W hardly ever gets the nominations right anyway, just like they've missed the boat on Olivia Colman last year.
I look forward to this issue every year and I absolutely love this group of cover stars. I think I'd be happy with any of them, but I'm hoping for Scarlett or Adam. I don't always like Teller's work but when he delivers, the results are spectacular and he certainly delivered here.
Whoa, actually loving this! I mean its Teller, you gonna always get a bit awkard feelings, it works here.
Brad is timeless... Perfect! I like all the men. Eddie should definitely wear Tom Ford. That suit does nothing for him... I like Scarlett but JLO looks like a caricature of her persona in that dress...Is that Pucci?
