MulletProof, I seriously cannot get over how good his new album is (and thank you again so much for the link to downlaod it!). And that song is one of my favourites also. I hardly ever listen to his older albums now that I've heard this one... they don't even compare.

Calenders and Clocks, The Coral

cosette: i know, it was such a surprise, i thought he'd stick to his classic folk. i'm loving every single piece of cripple crow. at the beginning i was a bit weirded out by the 60's phase (right in the middle of the record) but it grew on me, i think it's done with sense of humour..i keep relating it to old latin american kitsch and i always smile when i get to that part. also the cover of simon díaz 'luna de margarita' is particularly a hit for me, probably my favorite track followed by korean dogwood, santa maria and of course, long-haired child.

by the way, lovely signature!

leonard cohen- famous blue raincoat.

Everything by Mocheeba.Saw her at the Caribana festival in the area and I am totally hooked.Great artist.

Yes, the album was completely unexpected! As much as I like his folk sound, this new... 60s rockish alternative edged folk (I really can't think of how to better describe the sound of the album...) is something he's pulled off so well, that I, like I said before, just can't sit and listen to the old ones because I know I could be listening to his better songs on Cripple Crow. Not to say I don't like his previous albums (Rejoicing in the Hands especially:heart:), I just haven't been in the mood for them. I think Long-Haired Child is the one I like most, but I love the Simon Díaz cover as well, and Korean Dogwood is simply wonderful, as well as When They Come (which I've played over and over and over... the guitars sound amazing in that one), and Hey Mama Wolf.

Thankyou for your comment on my signature btw! I've been listening to La Foret a bit much lately.

And I love the Leonard Cohen song...

Hey Mama Wolf (!!), Devendra Banhart
