What Are You Reading?

I don't think of "Bones" as an adaptation of the Temperence Brennan novels at all: just a serious where the characters have the same names and jobs as people in the books! I don't know if the Rizzoli and Isles series will be the same. The casting suggests that it might since I don't see Rizzoli (who the books describe as a "plain Jane" type) as looking anything like Angie Harmon who will be playing her in the series! Here's the show's website: http://www.tnt.tv/series/rizzoliandisles/

thanks for the link and although they changed the characters a lot it looks promising
the thing about "Bones" is just that i don't like any of the changes they made, otherwise i guess i'd be ok with it, but i don't like the extremely unbelievable computer stuff. i liked about the books that you learned how much work goes into the job and it was so interesting, also i loved that most books had Montreal almost as another character and the few episodes i watched of Bones were in some american city (i guess they relocated it to the US? otherwise i'm sorry and may give it another chance)...not sure, it just didn't feel like the books at all, like you said, they just had the same names and jobs:(
i wish they wouldn't turn all those books into 1 hour series but into 2 hour made-for-tv-movies for each book, kinda like they do it with the Wallander books

now reading
Stieg Larsson - Verdammnis (Millennium #2)

Still reading The Alchemist.

Does anyone recommend One Hundred Years of Solitude as a good summer read?

^^I'm planning on re-reading the entire series pretty soon. :D
Right now, I'm still reading The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest.

White Noise by Don DeLillo

Just finished this... I would probably give it 6/10. It was well written without a doubt, but a little too heavy on dialogue and I didn't really connect with any of the characters.

Now reading On The Beach by Nevil Shute

Eat, Pray, Love... figured I better read it before I see the film.

^^^I´m reading it too.... The Italy part was great... The India part.. not so great... I hope it gets better towards the end...
