What Are You Reading?

100 Years of Solitude by Gabriel Garcia Marquez

and

My Beloved World by Sonia Sotomayer

Reading both books for my course on Hispanic culture for college. Both are vastly interesting in different ways. From what I've read of 100 Years in Solitude so far, it reads like poetry.

The White Forest by Adam McOmber- I'm only about 50 pages in but so far it seems like a real treat!

Just starting The Sense of an Ending by Julian Barnes

Was recommended to me by a friend... we'll see how it goes.

Am still only partway through House of Mirth by Edith Warton, but I can't bring myself to really dive in at the moment.

Finished Sense of an Ending (which I did not like) and now am on to Life After Life by Kate Atkinson, which I already feel more positive about.

(Still have not picked up House of Mirth again )

Am reading total and utter fluff! ^_^

'Can you Keep a Secret' by Sophie Kinsella.

Wanted something light after Flynn's 'Sharp Objects' and had only ever read the first of Kinsella's shopping series, which I thought was a poor imitation of the Bridget Jones books. So far this one is similar...

100 years of solitude is one of my favorite books ever!!! I just could not put it down. Brilliant book. Also Marguez is one of my favorite writer.

I am readin The great railway bazaar by Paul Theroux. So far so good. From the first line I just knew I will like this book alot.

The Basic Eight by Daniel Handler

and

Stiff: The Curious Lives of Human Cadavers by Mary Roach

also The House of Mirth by Edith Wharton for class

Inside WikiLeaks: My Time with Julian Assange and the World's Most Dangerous Website by Daniel Domscheit-Berg

It's an extremely interesting read but obviously doesn't describe all those events and people in the most objective way. A bit bitter but still very exciting.

Currently reading The Secret History by Donna Tartt and I love it so far. I'll also be starting The Robber Bride by Margaret Atwood soon for class.

A Dance with Dragons by George R.R. Martin. I can't seem to read anything else nowadays.

Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal? by jeanette winterson.

i just don't know whether to laugh or cry in this book, moment to moment. i love her writing so much, and this is such a tender, funny, heart ache of a book so far. i have always loved her fiction, even in its flamboyant moments - and i know plenty of people who think she's a joke - but i can't help but love her even more, reading this account of her life.
