What are you using now for sun screen?

wow,is it really that good? Maybe i should get it:D

It was recommended to me by a makeupartist on specktra.net

I got a tube, applied it over skin moisturizer, took my MAC Studio Fix and the sunscreen made the product stick better to the skin immediately  Day went on... at night my nose was nothing near the oilyness it used to have and there was still so much foundation left on my skin.

But when taking off I realized it was really waterproof *lol* you might need more than a usual makeup remover. If you get everything off your face, it will feel very soft :woot:

But the Cream dries the skin out a little I guess since I have little dry flakes after removing everything  I will continue testing :D but so far it's quite good despite the dry patches

My sunscreen raves

My Cheap sunscreen-
Oil of Olay Complete SPF 15
--from drugstores; has never let me down.

My Expensive sunscreen-
Oil Free Sunblock SPF 15 Sheer Tint by Murad (1.7 oz for $20)
--for all skin types; also makes a great make-up base or used on its own; has lavender oil as a natural anti-inflammatory... I love all the good-for-your-skin ingredients in it! Photo of it here:

Shelter from Philosophy I think it's about 16 bucks

The consistency is incredible, leaves my skin soft, and somewhat dewy, but not at all greasy looking...Works great as a makeup base too!

J/A/S/O/N Organics spf 15 moisturizer for oil/combination skin...it's not greasy and it doesn't leave a weird tint on your face like lots of organic/all natural sunscreens seem to.
it's about 10 bucks.

Clarin's UV Plus SPF 40. It's wonderful, it feels light as water, and not greasy at all. It's $36.50.

DDF has made a new sunscreen that is odorless and 30spf. It's totally organic. It's on $25 dollars. and I got my mom hooked on it and she has super sensative skin. It's great. Before I apply my makeup I sometimes use Lancome Aqua Fusion SPF15 lotion

im not using any sunscreen im a complete novice eek! i am black with a wheatish complexion i dont want anything heavy, does sunscreen interfere with getting a tan?? sorry if that sounded stupid i really have no idea! any recommendations?

^i always use neutrogena ultra dry sunblock with helioplex..it's very light and not greasy at all (it smells good too!)

i don't like getting tan so i use spf 55 and re-apply every 30minutes when i'm at the beach (while under an umbrella) but i don't think it should interfere with getting a tan, it's more of a protective barrier.

This may sound weird, but I'm actually allergic to sunscreens. Even though my skin is naturally tan, I burn like a crisp. Anyone else have a similar problem or any recommendations for hypoallergenic sunscreens (if those even exist). A while back I read about a sunscreen pill. Apparently you just take one and it has the same effect as the topical kind. Still haven't seen it at a drugstore, though.

i heard black skin has a natural spf of 13-16 if this is true surely it means i can go in the sun scott free??..

L'oreal Solar Expertise Matte Fluid Protection / SPF 50 :flower:

I have to say, as far as sunscreens go, this is very light, although the fragrance is less then pleasant.

I wouldn't count on it. SPF 13-16 hardly does anything to protect you from the sun.

Actually, it does. There's nearly no difference between SPF 15 and SPF 20...except maybe for the price :p My biology professor is a natural redhead with very fair skin, and she never goes above SPF 15, and she has never had a sunburn or weird pigmentation.

So I'm sticking to Dermalogica Sheer Tint Moisture, it has SPF 15. I haven't had a sunburn in 18 years even though I'm very fair, and I just recently started using suncreen because I get a billion moles when I'm exposed to the sun...and I'm afraid I'll end up looking like my mom, all wrinkly and reddish  I have had all my moles checked, and they are all fine, it's just annoying

Actually you do need sunblock even with natural SPF and there is a difference when it comes to what SPF one uses just not in the way people think. The lower the SPF, the more often you need to reapply because the SPF refers to how much longer you can stay in the sun and still be protected.

You have to reapply no matter if it's high or low, unfortunately...I don't do that everyday, only when going to the beach or on vacation. There's no need for reapplying in Denmark :ninja:

Even if your professor hasn't had a sunburn, she could still be causing damage to her skin. Perhaps that's what you meant by "weird pigmentation," but I'm not positive.

In any case, she must be reapplying the sunblock constantly in order to achieve that, because a little bit of SPF 15 alone isn't enough for long periods of time.

It is. No damage. She told me that it's enough (for her at least) to apply before going out and only reapply when she's on the beach or on vacation...because it's Denmark, there's really no need for it.
