What Bargains To Buy

helena said:
Hanne - what height are you? I am 5"7. It would be funny if we were the same height too! So how big is your bump now? Do you worry about getting back to your old size afterwards - there is so much pressure in the media etc I think it must be a nightmare post pregnancy with all the pressure?

Is it freezing with you just now - its been so cold here - I'm sure it will be heading over your way.....

I am getting all excited about my trip to the sales.
I'm 172,5 cm which is somewhere inbetween 5"7 and 5"8 ..this is spoooky
^_^ ..wondering what your shoe size is now...mine is a 36,5-37, UK 4 or US 37,5 (Nike trainers).
I haven't been able to locate my messuring tape for about a week...but I think I'm closing in on 100cm around my bellybutton soon..everybody is so surprised when they learn that I still have about 4 months left..I guess its the fact that I have none-existent hips make my stomach grow more outwards than sidewards.
I'd hate not being able to get back to my old size afterwards..that would mean chucking all of my clothes:cry: ..because I've never varied in size before..but I hear from a lot of people that breastfeeding and running after a little rugrat is very good excersize..so I'm only moderately worried..I'm just gonna tell the baby to keep sucking that fat out of me ^_^ untill I'm satisfied with my weight again.
I'm like a regular little stove right now..so the cold doesn't bother me like it usually does.

Hanne - weird indeed! My feet are size 36.5 or 37. Its funny - my feet are quite small for my height. Ok hair colour? Mine is naturally dark ash blonde but i have light ash highlights through it to brighten it up. Skin - v. pale with a yellowish tone (rather than pink-ish like most scots). Eyes - blue.

I am sure you'll lose the pregnancy inches quickly with breastfeeding. it will be very strange to begin with won't it? Just think how great it will be to get back into your old clothes.

 Helena..my hair colour is ash blond as well..medium I guess..and I get light ash and golden highlights to brighten it up as well.
Phew..atleast we differ on some points..lol..my skintone is pink-ish and my eyes are blue-green.
I can't wait to get back to my normal weight..and then..oooh then...I'll do some serious damage to my credit cards..but it'll probably take a good while..I was told to go ahead early and buy clothes that could be used during breastfeeding..because most new mothers are to damn tired to care for shopping...IMAGINE :o  !! All the mothers I know talk about the how they buy babyclothes all the time but neglect themselves.. I hope that wont be the case for me..

i hope we still hear from you after the baby hanne..my friend who had a baby never has time for the internet anymore...the baby keeps her busy all the time...and she has help as well..but she is just exhausted always...and now she's pregnant again...
at least she already has a lot of maternity clothes she can wear...LOL...

she used to be a major fashionista...trend wh*re...but now she is in pumas and pants all the time...and she doesn't even follow the shows...(and she's in the fashion industry)...i lose some of my closest friends that way...

but then i know other women who wore heels throughout and after their pregnancy...HAHAHA>...

i find that a lot of clothes that are maternity can work for that boho chic look and vice versa...

wait..i think i went completely off-topic!...oops!!!...moderating myself...HAHAHA...

I'll probably become one of those slightly (?) nauseating people who post way too many pictures of their baby

Hanne pictures of your baby will be good.

Anyway - back on topic - any advice anyone on what I should be looking for in the sales. I am thinking no trendy stuff but things that can last me for years....I am much more interested in the latter these days. I am also thinking of something from CDG...? softgrey - anything you can think of (was trawling the Pollyanna website last night to see what I like). The martine sitbon top which i am in love with. I would love love love a tartan skirt - I wonder if viv westwood sale will be on.... What do you all think will still look good from the seasons collections in two or three years time? I think all the prada brooch-y stuff will look so dated very soon - do you agree? I think it will be best to stick to black. For years I have tried to embrace colour but I just don't seem to manage the colour thing very convincingly. I think I just suit a more austere look.

all tips/advice most welcome!!!!

anything from hussein chalayan...veronique branquinho...marni...erotokritos...

maybe a jersey top at cdg or junya...anything jersey there is usually good

I don't know if you have already got them, nor did you change your mind :-P but I saw a Junya sheepskin "trainer" today at the CdG Warsaw Guerrilla. It is not high ankle like the yoox ones:-) Black with white "lower part":-), size 3.
I didn't get them yet nqth. I'd actually prefer the low rise ones - how much were they? Did you like them?

Pradaesk - no because they are sold out in my size!! They never came down in price. I should have bought them. I thought they were perfect. I love navy clothes but you hardly ever get navy shoes let alone navy patent shoes. Pity. I hope you enjoy wearing yours. I like your style pradaesk:flower:

 thanks pradaesk. I certainly hope so. Will be in Paris in march so I think there is much more chance of getting a pair there than where I live. Here's hoping.

^^ jealous...so so jealous...LOL...
:D ...;)...

mm... When did CDG make a houndstooth and camoflage, weird *** coat/jackety thing?

I saw one at my Off Saks and kind of liked it... (its on the 75% off rack too, down from 2500 to 300... so it would be like, 100 bucks or something)

I would by no means call it a bargain, but im thinking of mail-ordering a carol christian poell blazer from the lift ecru sale.
Hopefully it will go on 50% off!

I don't have any pictures, but when this seasons suits are referred to as 'elegant armor' which I think is correct. The outside is a very crisp black fabric with a pattern of white diamonds running over it and I believe it is held together by the signature taping.
