What do YOU look for in a bag?

if the bag is screaming for my name it is a definite purchase. :D
criteria: bold, bright and wonderful big bags...

off topic: the fendi in the pic...does the canvas/fabric get dirty easily?

Longevity, mainly, both in quality and design. I can't buy an expensive bag on a whim. Anything loud repulses me, too. Past that, it's mainly just an instinctual reaction of "yes" and "no."
I like the way you put it.

I need something BIG, roomy, well thoughtout (Not one zip pocket, what the fcuk am I supposed to do w/ that?) leather, in a nice color. OH a good design doesn't hurt either.

It depends, really. If it's a bag for work, it must be black, made of canvas or some washable material), roomy and boring.

If it's for life in general ANYTHING. Though I have to admit sometimes I'm stupid enough to let the brand name take part in my decision, e.g. I love Chanel handbags etc.

i have a lot of black and grey in my wardrobe, so i tend to like bags with color, but nothing too loud. it also has to be understated, while i have a couple LV, i prefer Balenciaga or Mulberry, or something else that will attract "nice bag" comments instead of "how much?"

also, my friend and i were shopping the other day, when at somepoint me putting my name down on the waitlist for a sea green bbag came up. "What a waste of money" to which i responded "everything you just charged is equally a waste". His response: "no, i have an event planned out for each outfit i bought!". My thoughts: everyday should be lived as an event, we cant wear the same outfit everyday but we sure can carry the same bag, thus justifying the thousands we put into them :smartass:

It has to have the "have to have it" factor about it.... If I see it... and want it... it has a 50/50 shot of being bought... if the inside organization is there... the chances drop dramatically.
