I wear 42 (European) and that's like 10.5 in America I guess.

With that said I incist that I am aloud to wear all sorts of weird footwear. The shoe/boot/whatever selection in my country is agonaizing, so I just buy whatever fits

PS the selection in Helsinki/Stockholm (nearest big citys) doesn't seem to be better either, but I will be checking that out next week

in womens' sizing:

US size 10, sometimes 9.5, UK size 8 (sometimes 7)

I usually need a 41 in designer shoes. They seem to run smaller and a 40 is a teeny bit snug.

I've never really considered my feet huge. They look very small because I have small, short toes. I'm surprised when I hear girls who wear size 8.5 moan "Oh my feet are soooo HUGE!" I also never have problems finding my shoe size. Everyone carries size 10 in the US. If I were in Japan, I'd be cursing my feet though. =)

Ah... just as I suspected... I wear the most common shoe size - 9! I have the hardest time finding shoes in my size, unless I get them the DAY they come into the store. They are always sold out. I can't tell you how many 8.5's I have bought just b/c I loved the shoe so much, but they were out of 9's.

I'm UK size 8 but probably a 9 in pointy shoes since i have wide feet. I wish it were easier (and cheaper) to buy shoes in my size, sales depress me so much. i live mainly in trainers.

im a 7.5 or 8. Japanese people have such small feet, my feet are considered big here for women sizes.

That's pretty big. I'm a ten in most brands, which I feel is prob the most prevalent size for men.

I also wear a US 12, I thought it was a pretty standard size for guys. My brothers both have huge feet, they wear size 14 and 16, but then again they are 6'4 and 6'7 (I'm only 6'2)

I think you are right that a lot of guys are 12, but more are 10. Just like 6'2"+ is tall (I'm only 5'9"). I think average height (male) is 5'11".

That's above average, I think the average man is about 5'9 (and even that may be generous). As for shoe sizing, the size 9 and 11s seem to be very popular, it seems so many men are an 11. Also, you can have men who are 5'8 wear a size 10, 11. I'm 6'3 and wear a 12, but one of my brothers is 6'4 and wears a 10. Go figure.
