What skin care did you use today?

I got my Shu Uemura cleansing oils!!! I wrote about it in the cleansers thread, but I'll c/p it here so it's faster for everyone to read about it.

HOLY CRAP! I've found my new HG cleansers! The oils above worked better than I had expected them to... I started off with a pump from the blue bottle (brightening oil), massaged it all over my face and very thoroughly on my eyes as I had waterproof mascara on. (Hahaha my entire face looked ridiculous, covered in oil and oozey black mascara and eyeshadow) Then I washed it off and there was only a bit of mascara left on my lashes. So I got another pump from the pink bottle (purifying) and slathered it all over my face and gave my eyes a very comfortable massage. All the mascara came off.

To check how effective of cleansers these oils were, I got a cotton pad, soaked it with my Bioderma Sensibio H20 and wiped it on my face. NOTHING! NO FOUNDATION STAINS! Wiped it over my eyes and hooray, no mascara, eyeliner or anything!

This process is a lot faster than the non-oil based makeup remover cleansing process (where you have to use a cotton pad). It's a lot better on your eyes as well, because you rest assured that you are not giving them friction wrinkles.

I love these cleansers so much. The reviews don't even do them justice. Of course one bottle would work just as well, I happened to purchase 2 for less than the price of 1. Somebody who uses the Dermalogica Precleanse must give these oils a go and tell me how they compare!

I think the same unfortunately. I used it last night, and in comparison to my La Prairie Foam Cleanser it feels very detergent-like, almost cheap. I am tempted to return mine, or exchange it because I rarely use it, only usually two to three times a week as a foaming cleanser really helps to soften my beard before shaving. So in a way I think, 'Should I return this even if I only use it MAYBE three times a week?' I just am trying to cutback on how long I leave products on my face, as far as something that feels cheap, which I'm not used to.

Anyhow, last night
Dermalogica PreCleanse (almost out of, and after reading about another member's opinion that it caused more build-up on their skin I started thinking about this and freaking out that maybe this is what is causing my buildup I see after rinsing off cleansers...I overthink too much, and I also freaked out last night when I noticed the smallest light brown spot on my face that I am going to get looked at, I do NOT want that on me..anyway considering repurchasing the PreCleanse because I've been pretty satisfied with it for over a year now...I started using it only to remove sunscreen before using a regular cleanser, and just to get some circulation going in my face before applying a regular cleanser with foam or a cleansing emulsion, now I use it practically every time I cleanse, I think if I repurchase it I will use it less sparingly, see if the buildup decreases...)
Shiseido The Skincare Extra-Gentle Cleansing Foam on Clarisonic Skincare Brush (only used the brush on my forehead, nose, cheeks and temples, trying to speed my routine up, and since my beard was so thick I didnt want to wait to cleanse the neck and jawline with the brush as I would have been in the bathroom much longer than the 2 hours I ended up being in there anyway)
Exfoliated with a combo of Mario Badescu Almond & Honey Face Scrub and Dr. Hauschka Cleansing Creme (I hate this Mario Badescu product, it needed a washcloth to remove, I dont feel it even exfoliated very well, and who needs big chunks of almonds moving over their face? I picked them off and threw them in the sink, and that Dr. Hauschka product is terrible too, I am out of Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Refiner, I need a really good 'physical exfoliant' like a 'scrub' (again, hate that word, but some people dont know what I'm talking about when I say 'physical' as opposed to a chemical exfoliant which would be a peel...anyhow on the search for a terrific new 'physical exfoliant', going to look at Omorovicza Gentle Buffing Cleanser and Orlane Paris products next time I'm in Neiman's)

Biologique-Recherche Lotion P50W as an antiseptic, and to help exfoliate any remaining dead skin cells
Shaved
lots of spritzing in between now, between steps, I drench my skin with out of the fridge cooled Biologique-Recherche L'eauxygenante Multifunction Facial Fluid and Natura Bisse Sensitive Toner, which I like the latter but it evaporates quickly off the skin, and I dont like that feeling much...
Biologique-Recherche Masque Biosensible applied in a thin layer all over face, Dermalogica Multi-Vitamin Masque on throat and chest..removed after 20 minutes
what was next? this sample of Clarins Men product, dont remember what it's called, but its a serum that is supposed to slow facial hair growth..

Have used Chanel Sublimage many times before, but used their serum and their cream - smell was kind of funky. Also, scrubbed with Natura Bisse facial scrub (orange) and used Sonya Dakur scrub over the body. Have a number of samples, so things may go from good to bad to ugly the next few weeks.

I learn so much from you, LTEC! I always thought a peel was the surgery operation where a thin layer of skin gets ripped off... There's a scene in Sex and the City where one of the characters gets what I thought was a peel and her face is all scary and orange afterwards. So I've been using a peeling product all along!
