What Skin Care Did You Use Today?

I use the La Prairie Foam Cleanser with the Clarisonic. After rinsing off PreCleanse in the shower (I apply before getting into the shower...I'm not a fan of applying products in the shower) I keep my face damp, wet the brush and spread the Foam Cleanser evenly on the brush, then begin at my temples, forehead, nose, upper lip, chin, jawline and gradually up to my cheeks, then down to my neck.

I would not use the Clarisonic cleanser. Of course they recommend using it with their cleansers, but any cleanser will do. Just make sure what you use is generally a foaming cleanser. I use the Clarisonic Brush with lotion cleansers but I apply the product to my face and then just the Brush over it to penetrate.

I still use the typical nivea for men at the moment, but I'm currently looking into some japanese brand products like shiseido for men..

Shiseido is a fabulous line...you should really get some of their products. I havent used their MEN line, but I do recommend the Benefiance Creamy Cleansing Foam and The Skincare Extra Gentle Cleansing Foam if you're looking for a face cleanser.

Both of those products you mentioned I assume are under the female line right? Or is it unisex? I'm totally new to shiseido products so some insight would definitely help..

I wouldn't mind picking those up but would just like to know since female cosmetic products differ compared to men's

Essentially men's products are the same as "female's", just packaged differently. Also, (I dont know if this is true of Shiseido) some men's lines have more irritating ingredients. Products marketed towards women are better for very sensitive skin, which men do have because of shaving, that sensitizes your skin.

Hmm, good points. Well I'll definitely check out some of the shiseido products you mentioned. Thanks again!^_^

your skincare routine is so impressive, I'd like to have a routine like yours but I'm so lazy sometimes!
it's just that I made myself believe that my skin is crappy, bad genes etc. and that nothing would help
how do u think if with a perfect skin routine the skin would become perfect? or that cosmetics stuff won't help?

Oh I can be lazy with skincare too. I havent done ANYTHING today since coming home from the gym, I was so tired I just laid in bed. I have really bad OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder...I've told myself I have this) that makes me take FOR-E-VER. It's annoying...I dont always use so many products at one time, just when I really need to deep-cleanse my face. I have like a mini mountain of products.
I cant say that these would all work for you, without seeing your skin in person and asking you more questions, like how your skin feels after cleansing it, do you exfoliate, yadda yadda...Just keep your skin clean, treat it gently, exfoliate but not too often and wear sunscreen...I am guilty of not wearing it everyday but only because I wear it while I run to the gym and I dont want it running down my face by the time I get there (I perspire a lot).

Anyway since you say you smoke, you should get something with oxygenating properties in it...

Last night, (after some of the hard work at the gym wore off and I was able to stand up )

My skin is combination, with oily forhead, and I get break-outs quite often, so I'd call it very problem skin  I do exfoliate it about twice a week. And it feels a little dry after cleanser. My skin is rather dull because of smoking (that's why I rarely leave the house without bronzer or blush haha ).
I'm kind of embarassed to say it, but I never wear sunscreen, well, I wear it only when I'm on a vacation :blush::blush: Do I have to put on a sunscreen before or after moisturizer? Or maybe instead of moisturizer? I've heard that sunscreen should be applied even in winter, is it right?
Could you please recommend me some good sunscreen, but not too pricy one?
Oh and do you have any idea about good products with oxygenating properties that you've mentioned?
Thank you thank you thank you in advance! :flower::flower::flower:

ALWAYS wearing sunscreen!!!!!!!! You might want to try a moisturizer with built-in sunscreen to avoid the hassle. I'm not sure if spf15 is enough on a daily basis but I personally use at least spf30. I also have breakout-prone combination skin, and I break out even more if I forget to use sunscreen... I like Shiseido sunscreens because it doesn't make my face all shiny, I read that Clarins, La Roche Posay and Vichy make high quality sunscreens as well. If you're on a budget I recommend Neutrogena, Aveeno or Olay. Olay Complete has pretty good reviews and it's a standard moisturizer+spf15 I think.

Also I don't wanna get all preachy "smoking is bad for you" etc, but, for me at least, my skins gets worse whenever I have a ciggie... :ninja:

I'm interested in this one, it's SPF15 and I think it'll be enough since it's winter now. I've never used anything from Shiseido, is it any good?

This one seems great too, for dull skin with SPF16, but I'm not sure if it won't make my combination skin too shiny

We don't have any Neutrogena, Aveeno and Olay here, I meant I can't afford something $100+ a bottle, but such brands as Clarins, Vichy and La Roche Posay are affordable so if anyone can recommend some exact good products from their lines I'd be delighted :flower:^_^

I would look into a gentle cleansing gel from Clarins, and a toner to use after cleansing and exfoliating. I really love the Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Refiner. Is your skin shiny? If it's shiny through your t-zone but not anywhere else (after two hours of cleansing) you have combo skin. If its shiny everywhere I would address it as oily. But something that some people with shiny/oily skin do is over-cleanse and aggravate skin more. So cleansing is not really necessary in the morning I dont think, just splash/pat water on, toner, serum and moisturizer, plus eye cream and sunscreen. Sunscreen should go on last.

Today skincare was
Dermalogica PreCleanse
La Prairie Foam Cleanser on Clarisonic Skincare Brush
Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Refiner (getting low, need to re-purchase but also interested in getting Karin Herzog's Mild Scrub with marble grains)
Biologique-Recherche P50V
Biologique-Recherche Creme Verte Espoir
Clarins Extra-Firming Eye Contour Cream
