I've been using way to many products lately in an attempt to cut down oil production in my skin. I think it's just due to the heat here in Australia that just came on so suddenly, my skin just got so unusually oily so fast.
I've been using:
Dermalogica Anti-Bac Skin Wash
Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant
Dermalogica Oil Control Lotion
Brevoxyl (4% Benzol Peroxide) Cream
Dermalogica Essential Cleansing Solution
SK-II Facial Treatment Clear Lotion

However it turns out that by using all these harsh products I've actually stripped my skin of it's essential oils and now my skin is even more oily as a result!
I got a facial this arvo and it was fantastic.

It all depends on how often you're using these products. If you're cleansing twice a day, you're overcleansing. You dont need to re-cleanse your skin in the morning if you've cleansed at night. Nothing happened to your skin at night that requires you to clean it again... in the morning pat on some cool tepid water, some toner, a serum if you use it, and moisturizer and SPF.

Also you list two cleansers...were you alternating them? Unless you precleanse with an oil, remove it, then apply a regular cleanser, you never need to cleanse twice. IMO. The benzoyl peroxide is the biggest cause for overdrying your skin that I can see from your routine..so make sure you're using a gentle cleanser, not exfoliating everyday (I think the Microfoliant is harsh anyway) and you should probably only use the BP at night.

Good luck, ask any questions you want of me if you'd like. :flower:

Letthemeatcake, is the clarisonic brush good to use? I haven't tried it but was wondering about ever since I read the brochure...

Also, what does the BR verte espoir cream good for? Does it work similar to dermopurifiante?

Shalu I like the Clarisonic, yes, I started with the Delicate brush head (the most sensitive of all of the heads) and now I use the Sensitive one. It works best with foaming cleansers, but I do use it with my BR Lait VIP 02 cleansing milk also. If I am using it with a foam cleanser, like before I shave, I apply the cleanser to the brush head and then use it. If I am using a lotion cleanser I apply that all over my face first and then put some on the brush head. It was actually recommended to me by the Biologique aesthetician.

I havent used the dermopurifiante cream from BR, (I want to try more of their creams of course) but the Creme Verte Espoir is heavenly.

I'll translate what it says on the box in a bit..it's supposed to help strengthen skin, calm redness and any irritation and really good for skin with broken capillaries (I have some under my nostrils)

Boots basic facial wash
La Roche-Posay-Active C anti aging cream
Clinique dramatically different moisturiser
St Ives Apricot Scrub

LetThemEatCake I was using one cleanser in the morning and one at night, so that was probably the main problem, and it's encouraged by Dermalogica to double cleans (as in, cleanse and repeat).

Also, what are La Prairie products like?
I've always wanted to try something from that line.

Yes I have some Dermalogica training, I know they like to do a double cleanse, which is OK, as long as you're cleansing with the PreCleanse oil and then a regular cleanser...Dont rinse that off and put another cleanser on though. Maybe if you still are cleansing twice a day, I'd use the Anti-Bac in the evening to remove all the buildup from your day, (pollution, dirt, makeup if you wear any) and the Essential Solution during the day. Have you tried the Dermalogica PreCleanse? I love it. I have a professional size which will last me forever.

As for La Prairie, I used to be a huge fan. Huge. I spent a lot of money on their products for years, and I'll probably always use their Foam Cleanser, maybe their Retexturizing Booster, but anything else, it's very overpriced, and in this bad economy time, it's not reasonable, so I stick to my $70 cleanser from them that lasts minimum six months, (its worth it) and on occasion I use their Retexturizer and the Nurturing Cream. I've pretty much conserved these since the Retexturizer is $170 and the cream is $200, so they're not cheap. They also have fragrance in their stuff, and that's not suitable for my sensitive skin, except the three products I use dont irritate my face.

I'm used now to Biologique Recherche, which uses no fragrances, just potent ingredients that are wonderful...

This evening:
Dermalogica PreCleanse
La Prairie Foam Cleanser
Clarisonic Skincare Brush
Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Refiner
Biologique Recherche P50V
Pharmagel Botanical Tonique
Clarins Skin Beauty Repair Serum Concentrate
ReVive Intensite Volumizing Serum (on forehead)
Biologique Recherche Creme Verte Espoir

Dermalogica PreCleanse
La Prairie Foam Cleanser
Clarisonic Skincare Brush
Clarins Gentle Exfoliating Refiner
La Prairie Cellular Softening and Balancing Lotion Tonique
La Prairie Cellular Retexturizing Booster
La Prairie Cellular Nurturing Anti-Redness Cream (also used on eyes its that gentle)

I certainly noticed that my face feels more heavy today than when I use Biologique creams, which you really massage in, La Prairie sinks in really quickly...

Cleansed my face with burt's bees chamomile & willow bark cleanser. skipped toner, as I was already late to work. Afterward, I put on sunscreen that I got at Trader Joe's.
