What to wear golfing

Er... I'm not sure if this is the write thread, but I'm going golfing with my parents and my parents' friends this coming Sunday, and I don't know what to wear? I don't want to wear something un-traditional for golfing and embarrass my parents, but I don't want to wear the traditional polo and high-wasited long shorts. Any suggestions? (I'm very sorry in advance if this is the wrong thread...)

I agree with Softgrey. Whenever I golf I wear either a pleated skirt (which is most typical for women on the course) or cropped pants (watch the length on the pants though, socks and golf shoes can look silly if they're the wrong length). I also like to wear Bermuda shorts (gonna get crap for this I'm sure) - I have some by Theory that I just love. As for a top, a plain t-shirt should do or a tailored button down. Have fun! How's your game?
