Which must-haves or trends are you having? And which are you tossing back?

I'm having ...
  • Neutral colors--Ivory, greys, and blacks
  • Puffed sleeves
  • Ruching, ruffles
  • Intense accent color (in my case, raspberry lipstick and shoes)
  • Silver eyeshadow
  • Crocodile
  • Embroidery/applique
  • Delicate fabrics and trims
  • Knee-length skirts
  • Ankle-length pants
  • Grey tights
  • Small bag
I'm tossing back ...
  • Sand and nude colors
  • Lace
  • The sailor look (again)
  • Green, orange
  • White
  • Dresses
  • Belts
  • Platforms
  • Wooden heels
  • The nerd/schoolgirl look
  • Brocade
  • Sixties
  • Fetish footwear
  • Ties
All I can think of for the moment ... what about you?

what do you mean by "tossing back"?...

A figure of speech  I just mean that my spring wardrobe plans don't include these things, not necessarily because I don't like them ... Take white, for example ... it's huge for spring, but I don't look good in white-white, and I also find it to be impractical, so I'm not going there :flower:

What about you?

Keeping:
Raw Denim (although it isn't the most practical for summer)
Waistcoats....I have already picked up a few vintage ones, and this Dior Homme one

White
Pastels

Tossing Back:
Florals
Crazy Prints
Sleeveless button ups
Shorts

You reminded me of something I forgot, seeing double ... prints. I normally build a seasonal wardrobe around a print or pattern or tweed ... but for spring, everything I'm buying is a solid color. I don't know if I've ever done this before ... :flower:

So I'm not doing the geometrics, or the fruit and vegetable prints ...

I also don't think I'm going to do shorts, but I may change my mind as the weather heats up

^I think shorts for women can look great, but I prefer ones with a large cuff, and I think it is best to wear them if you have thinner thighs. Unfortuantely, the shorts for men I have seen so far are dreadful. I will probably pick up a few pairs at Marc by Marc, but that is it.

Keeping:

delicate fabrics and trims
shorts
skinny jeans

tossing back:
ruffles
puffed sleeves
ties
wood heels

oh. okay. got it. i feel a tad stupid now.

as for what i need to buy this spring:

these silk shorts from max azria collection. i love the bow detail in the front.

(from style.com)

and more shorts. so versatile and perfect for when it's 100 degrees out on a mid-summer day. ooh, i can't wait. ^_^

lots of neutral shades. i was really loving these by the end of last summer and then september and show season rolled around and they were everywhere for s/s 06...i was pretty excited.

skirts and trousers that hit at the natural waist, like this catherine malandrino skirt i just got.

(neimanmarcus.com)

linen clothing. i never really liked this fabic before, but i've seen some great pieces that have changed my mind about what i previously perceived to be a bland fabric for shapeless baggy trouser-and-long jacket sets worn by ladies in their 60's.

more classic clothing with ruffles, puffed sleeves, lace...things i have always worn, loved, and am stocking up on to wear long after the trend passes

it's so hard to limit this list...i really love so much of s/s 06!

not buying:

the nautical look

lots of black

boleros and sequins. i generally liked these when they first arrived last spring, but they became so overdone and over tacky-fied. hopefully they will die out by this spring despite the fact that they were still present in s/s 06 runways.

prints and stripes. for some reason i can't wear prints anymore, they feel too...i don't know, busy right now, at least on me. they definitely work on others, just not me. and stripes never were me at all.

Tailored "baggy" trousers (what an oxymoron)
Linen (duh), most likely from Etro
Seersucker (maybe pants or a jacket; but, probably not as a suit)
Pastel jackets/trousers (been eyeing some mint superfine cord shorts, jacket and trousers at Etro)
Jackets with matching shorts (MJ or Jil Sander)
