Who Has Started Shopping for Fall

hey! i think when i hit the summer sales, most of the stufs that i bought are for fall. Loving my blue coat!

I prefer shopping for winter as well, there are more choices for me to layer my clothes and wear more stuff than at summertime.

I can't wait for the fall season as well, even though i'm in Boston. Fall clothes always look so much richer than the spring summer ones. I love dark palette!

So do I, I love dark palette as well and I can't wait for the boots to start hitting the shoe racks. I bought a cord blazer this weekend.:D

I have my eyes on quite a few pairs of boots... :ninja:

I have already bought a brown blazer... but am wondering if I should return it...

Also on my list of things to get: a military coat, Balenciaga style

I'm waiting for the fall stuff sooooo much!! All the dark colours..............

i bought my first DVF wrap dress half-off at bloomingdales about a week ago, envisioning wearing it over jeans as well. also bought two pairs of ballet flats. am thinking i will need more beautiful flats, and plan to go vintage shopping in a week. i'm not going over-the-top for fall, i already have so much, it's difficult to think of real gaps in my wardrobe.

I bought a Chloe coat and have a Chanel purse on order. If I had more money available now I would have gallons of Fall season clothes. My wish list is long!

I've ordered my fall bags and shoes and 'statement coat'. I usually get basic pants and skirts from theory and splurge on accessories. I also have a long list but need to pace myself since it is only July.... uh oh

Would you like to share the picture of the "statement coat?" I am looking for one as well. thanks!

^ oohh I also ordered my two cocktail dresses.. I need to post pics to get opinions. One oscar and one posen (posen is last season but I couldn't resist the 50% DISCOUNT)

;) I am trying to attach a picture of it but am having trouble. If you go to style.com and look under fashion shows, then fall 2005 oscar de la renta complete collection. It is pic #16.. black w/ purple geometric design and fur trim.. let me know what you think.

What I want for my fall wardrobe is very similar to the rest of the people on this tread! I want a navy blue or black velvet blazer, a great coat (preferably a trench), boots, large bag for school. I definitely agree that fall is best time season for shopping, during the summer I just want to stay home cause its so hot outside.

I started back in March when I pre-ordered a Marc Jacobs brown tweed and velvet ribbon skirt. More recently I got Hollywould brown ponyskin square-toe ballets (with teal, etc. Swarovski decoration), and two silk charmeuse camisoles with scoop necks, bow tie, ruffles, and buttons down the front that kinda evoke the Edwardian thing a bit. I saw them in a catalog and went to the store and tried them on ... was thrilled with the fit! Normally I can never wear anything that buttons down the front as I have a bit more of a figure, but these fit almost like they were made for me--accentuate all the good bits and hide all the flaws! One in ivory, one dark brown.

As I mentioned elsewhere, I would like to find a velvet bag, but they seem to be in short supply.

Here's the shoes (far right, note the cashmere lining, it feels like heaven):

I've been rummaging the thrift & vintage shops all summer. There always seems to be a surplus of winter-wear in the warmer months. I think it's just because most people aren't thinking about buying their winter coat in mid June!

I do the same thing, found a vintage red wool military style 3/4 coat w/ black velvet collar looks very similar to one Michael Kors will have out this Fall

I was so close to buying a pair of boots yesterday at Nordstroms, they were on sale too from 100 down to 70.. Now I'm kicking myself for not getting them...

Speaking of boots, has anyone found mens high boots yet? Something in the range of $150-250. I'm from Canada, and you US folk get things first, but I was wandering if any of the common stores have gotten in their winter stock early. Any help greatly appreciated.

I got my piece de resistance today - a wool and mink trench coat from Lanvin in moka and earlier this month I got an elegant LV evening top both from the pre-fall collections. Can't shop now until September - as I have kind of burnt an enormous hole in my purse so to speak! But I plan on buying Cashmere jumpers, jeans and a pair of boots to complete my fall wardrobe. I also have a late October wedding to go to so I will have to pick up something for that but hopefully the high street stores will serve my needs! I don't like spending to much on things I am only going to wear once or twice.

I'm so happy to find this thread -- I basically skip over summer and start waiting for the fall collections to come out starting in March! what's really scary is I've pre-ordered so many things that won't arrive until september that I don't quite remember what I'm getting! but in general:

low heeled boots (I'm dying for these dior brown croc ones)

slouchy boots
