thanks for all the pictures, cerfas!
i read somewhere that 'there's a gentle spirit' to her clothes ... and i can see that. i have another image that i will scan to morrow....

Are pleated trousers back for men??? I'm not ready to give up skinny!

You're quite welcome :)
Yes, mostly the clothes are anything but loud, but have a presence to them that is noticeable to certain people

I saw some stuff yesterday, F/W 05. I had mixed feelings. It seemed very good at first sight, then it seemed to lack something. I don't know what it is - maybe I have some psychological block. The prices are very inexpensive compared to other designers, and the quality looked very good from what I saw. Wool pants are around $160, for example.

I think Korea is going to be the source of a new wave of designers. The Belgians, the Japanese, etc.

that really isn't expensive... could you nail a bit what you thought was lacking, faust?:flower:

It looks great imo, too bad she doesn't make womenswear anymore..then again..a lot of the pieces could easily be worn by women.

That is a great price for trousers, wow
I haven't seen any 05 or 06 stuff...be curious to know what it's like

It's hard to say. It seemed to lack personality? It was neither non-chalant nor edgy. It was too neat, too contrived. For example, there was a pair of dark dark olive herringbone pants with sharkskin effect, and the fabric was really top notch, but then it had three buttons on each thigh, which at first I thought "cool!" and next second I thought "gimmick." Another version of these pants had a wide burgundy insert down the side of each leg, and I thought the same thing. Something along those lines. It was like the first Cloak collection, may be getting there, but no cigar....

I'm trying to articulate it the best I can, but I see that it's not easy . To give a contrary example (and I know people are probably already a little tired of my reverence for Ann), when Ann Demeulemeester places a button or a zipper somewhere, there is ALWAYS a reason for it, it's all very well thought through, there is either a functional or an aesthetic point in it, which I TOTALLY SEE. I did not see it in this collection.

It was still not a bad collection by any means, and I imagine that a person with a different aesthetic would love it. I thought of Baklanyc, actually, that it would fit his style more than mine.

Honey~Blade, I saw it at a local shop here, you can actually see pictures on the site.

thanks faust:flower:
i didn't perceive the clothes as gimmicky judging from the pictures, but i guess i am a more 'gimmicky' person than you are anyway:lol:
