1. Eco/granola revolution. Fleece LL Bean pullovers, khakis and Birkenstocks
2. Reaccuring retro trends-Mod,Hippie trends have seen their days, now can we please stop with them all
3.This recent emergence of blatant copying by established designers(i.e. Marc Jacobs,Prada et al)from younger and obscure designers.
4.Grunge-Flannel shirts, nasty unwashed jeans and skateboard sneakers is NOT rebellious nor is it cool.
5. Using clothing as a way to show wealth and ego rather than actual personality.
6. Hierarchy(sp?)conglomerates taking over fashion as a mere marketing strategy

I agree with all of theas

I must add one more item.....Fashion slaves and victims! That's probably the worst of them all.

i have noticed that ppl are trying to bring back the ripped up jeans. you know? the whole and the knee, thighs, and right under your butt was bad enough back then. Why are they trying to bring it back? All i know is I won't be wearing it. I'll also be alright as long as they don't start bleaching and tapering them again! :yuk:

*grunge in general aint the hottest look, i prefer proper rockstar, but unwashed jeans are so much better than pressed jeans especially ones with creases down the front! and especially that too tight look ugh!
*logo od is bad personally i wont buy things with big logos on i think even the real thing can look cheap especially on the wrong person, when you see so many fakes around in any case i but clothes for their style rather than to be a walking billboard
*does anyone else remember shrugs? those pointless half cardigans? why?
*overly ditressed denim, natural wear is all good, but lookng like you had an accident with a shedder aint a hot look!
*minimalsim, ugly and boring
*leather trousers they only work on VERY special people

not ugly to me..... thank you very much!

on the very few it can look good but takes enormous attention to detail,
cheap minimalism is the worst

Contrary to my post,I love nonchalance or that unkept sense of style but even those people(including myself)take care of themselves. Grunge wasn't like that for me somehow.

As far as minimalism is concerned, that wasn't really something derived of the last 10 years. Its been around since the 60's(Rudi Geinrich,Paco Rabanne,Courreges) and have had various interpretations, but the bottom line is that,it was a revolution that focused primarily on shapes and geometric structures. Like with architechture...clean,simple and pure lines and not a lot of surface detail. There's been some outstanding creations in relation to it including the work of Jil Sander(who is still renowed for it),Yohji Yamamoto,Miuccia Prada,Ann Demeulemeester,Kawakubo and even Calvin Klein. I think most have moved away from it because it a got a little depressing and unimaginitive after a while, but I still think its around in some variation.

i'm with lele, minimalism was cool while it lasted

worst trends during the last 10 years?
*the dreadful '80's revival
*the boring 70's revival
*logomania
*low waist trousers (much more with thongs showing off)
*platform shoes
*LV bags mania
*slaving-to-designer-wear (label snobbism as almost famous said)
*fleece
*lux label fakes

iv always appreciated 60's minimalism but it did not work for me in the 90's especially seeing all the polyester reincarnations that were churned out on the high street, perhapes i am a little too flamboyant, but for me it was all just a little too cold
for me unless it is executed perfectly it does not work

also i like low waists but flashing string is not good! some body ought to go round twanging them or something until people get the message,
