I like minimalism but I think my heart is much more fond of intricacy and craft combined with shape and volume--to me that's purity at its best. And flamboyant,it isn't always. Sometimes those things are quite simple. In fact,they are depending on shape and structure. I just think that you appreciate things with a bit more 'visible' character,Beki,as do I.

Beware originality. In fashion it leads to costume. I think Diane Vreeland said that.

I don't like thongs showing either. or customised jeans - esp. with bits of lace on.

But what I hated most was the drawstring cargo pants (the ones that pull up like festoon blinds) with high heels. Its one of those trends that might look good now, but if you see a picture of it in 5 years, you'll wet yourself laughing at it.

Absolutely!
I am proud to say I have never owned a pair! Unfortunately there are still people wearing them here

Other bad trends:
- the 80's revival thing that has been going on the past year (fluorescent plastic etc)
- the peasant trend of 2002, cute at the time but sooo overdone!

Fleece is a must for a lot of outdoor activities but shouldn't be worn everyday. A lot of poeple around here dress as though they're going camping.

- Crocodile or snakish fabrics (especially when everything the person's wearing is like that)
- Thongs that are apparent when you bend over (esp. when wearing extremely low rise jeans)
- Platforms (any)
- Extremely low and baggy jeans on guys (you know, when you see their boxers )
- For guys: those dragon or martial arts stuff huge shirts (let's burn them!!!!)
- Army prints on anything
- Rocker wannabe stuff (aren't those wannabe rockerchicks that look more like Britney Spears than the unique Gwen Stefani everywhere!!! )

from a male POV i absolutely hate trucker hats on women, especially when they have no style to begin with and think i can plop this huge ugly hat on my dome and im trendy.....

For men id have to say skinny suits are pretty bad. i prefer a single breasted jacket with a thin long lapel but some of helmut langs designs look like they just dont fit. The inch wide tie has to go as well.
