WSJ Magazine February 2017 : Michelle Williams by Daniel Jackson

The second cover is gorgeous. I absolutely adore this girl, but these images won't sell her to those who don't care for her. Also, the styling????

^Yes Benn, I agree, amazing! The styling is a big no.

Ugh Mica. I'm so over seeing that obnoxious haircut and her poor posture all over the place.

I agree! What a waste of a holiday spread! Quite surprised the industry is still pushing this girl. Even if you subtract her sleep inducing presence here, the concept is still weak.

Can’t put the entire blame on her for a set of totally forgettable iPhone snaps. When you don’t have a strong model with any presence, you really need a strong photographer who can bring that presence. And he’s bringing nothing. I’ve seen tourists snaps that have more energy and creativity than these advertorials.

Except for the leading image, not a single one of these shots take advantage of Thailand— or remember to sell the locale: Mica looks like she was digitally inserted in every bland shot since there’s absolutely no interaction with her and where she’s at. And they signed off on this…???

The first cover of Michelle is nice though. The others are so forgettable. It’s like none of these photographers are capable of producing anything beyond one solid shot.

Thanks guys for posting.

I love this! Sure, it's not exactly groundbreaking photography or styling but in some of the shots she looks truly happy and... effervescent? It seems to me she's normally photographed looking serious and it comes across that she is uncomfortable having her photo taken, but here that's not the case. It's simple, but beautiful.

I really like the smiling cover shot, it's something different but effective. Mica's story is very tired, I feel like I've seen this many times before and its getting boring. She lacks versatility imo.

The smiling cover is lovely, not something you see very often on cover shots.
