In honor of Yasmin's birthday today, I have unveiled the redesigned and updated site! I hadn't updated it since January, so there's lots more to see and do. It's taken many months for me to do it all, such that I thought I'd never get it exactly the way I wanted it. And now I think it's pretty close. B)

Yasmin's on the cover of Henna, a new UK magazine for Asian woman, it's been sitting in my newsagents for about a month, it's got good paper quality, good production values, but for the cover price of £4.50, there wasn't that much content inside (although there is an interview with Yasmin).

Hmm, I thought it was quite good - I loved the editorial by Robert Astley-Sparke. Of course, I'm somewhat biased.

(regretfully, most of the scans are not to my usual quality - I used an unfamiliar scanner and have no idea why it produced so much moire.)

From what the coverlines promised, I was expecting a bit more, and in terms of design, it had that spaced-out feel you often see when magazines don't have quite enough content to fill the page. However, for a new magazine, it's finding its feet, and the photography and paper quality was really good. It felt like an expensive product, rather than something disposable.

Yasmin was definitely the high point of the issue (though I did see some nice men in there as well) - if only we could see her in UK Vogue, it would be a reminder to everyone that she's still as beautiful as the first day we saw her.

Thanks fro posting that Henna cover tigerrouge Wasn't aware of this mag at all.
I still cannot believe how much she hasn't changed in more than 20 yearsat least not much anyhow. Amazing lady.
