Yes, they're creeping uncomfortably close to full retail in certain instances. Sometimes it's hard to pin down because I don't know exactly what certain brands charge, but with others, it's obvious that there is very little discount. For example, a wool/cashmere cardigan that I wanted from f/w 06 is now available for $720 US. The retail was just over $900 2 years ago. Not a great deal, but maybe it'll stick around for a while. I also bought some McQueen suits a couple of years ago for ~600 or 700 a piece. They were on their first yoox discount. Now, some suits in comparable fabrics start at well over 2000. I don't even know that Barneys charges that much for current season McQueen suiting.


It doesn't necessarily apply to situations like the one above, but retail prices have gotten considerable worse here due to the $/Euro exchange rate. Shirts that once started at $250 retail for over $400. Jackets and blazers jumped from $850-1100 to 1200-1500. It's troubling to say the least, but it may be playing a part in the elevated yoox prices. Take the cardigan I mentioned above. Maybe it would retail for 1,300 or more this season, so they're taking advantage of escalating prices. Sadly, it makes more and more items unattainable without deep, deep discounting late in the season.

hmm.... I think you might be right... I was looking at some Givenchy earlier and thought how reasonable it was....but there definitely seems to have been a price jump..


What I do not understand is how they can edit the prices after putting them up... !!

yoox has always been outrageous to me except their sample sales or their "extra" reduction on top of the so called existing reduction
its a shame as they often have interesting things but thank god they at least updated their website

right, so who got this Yohji dress for $200? not me...

the dress is back, but not in my size. Someone should really snap it up, it comes out to less than $200 with the yoox8 code....

yoox has a new look, I found it easy to navigate and so far, speed is fine. what about you, any feelings yay or nay with the new look? the code posted above still works and they posted some really great new things, hint...hint for the the MMM fans these days.

I generally like it, but the zoom is a bit frustrating...it's almost too close up?

But the prices on some things are truly bewildering--above retail in certain cases!

OMG!! so both of you, opened the door for me and I'm so grateful (soft, did you want it?). I saw that dress when it was first posted last week and was completely deflated when it was gone before I could get through the purchase, and I was just able to buy it with the 8yoox code...but I didnt see your posts here or I wouldnt have taken it from under soft's grasp. so, let me know if you want it since you saw it first and I'll cancel the order.

Just a hint, the current code is 8YOOX and NOT yoox8, thats what i used just yesterday in europe ... valid till end of july and only for new F/W.

His fit can be very tricky, so i would keep your eyes open in case it comes back...

This might be a stupid question, but is there anything special (prices, collection etc) about Yoox?

I guess the only special thing about it is that they sell past season designer collections at a discount? The only other comparable website is bluefly, but bluefly offers very little in terms of european designers. i've found things on yoox that were not otherwise available in the states...

nowadays yoox prices are definitely not so special though....

yoox has gotten so expensive. their sales never really advance to any deep discounts. it's a shame considering it's all non-current merchandise.

can the people at yoox measure their items?
i want a pair of black capris and they have a ton...if I would give them my measurements, could they find me the best fitting pairs?
