I've never regarded comfortable chick as an oxymoron. Sweats aren't the only comfortable clothes on earth just the ugliest.

i just flew. and i donned comfortable, yet non-gym attire.

i also wore driving mocassins [non-pocahantas-esque] for easy access through security check points.

Well, today I flew from Seattle to Florida, and slept through my alarm, so I had all of five minutes to get ready after the driver rang my doorbell at 4:30 am. So, yes, I wore ugly sweats.

But even though sweats are physically comfortable, I always feel psychically uncomfortable in them, because I know they're so ugly...

For shorter flights at less ungodly hours, I feel better in something more attractive.

I fly across the country all the time, so it's hard finding something stylish and comfortable sometimes. Lately I've been wearing a long tank top, sweater or zip up hoodie, black pants and converse. Nothing too tight, or too frumpy, I guess. Sometimes I'll wear a casual dress though, if it's summer.

like everyone else, i like to be chic but comfortable...

usually i'll wear dark/rinse jeans, tank or t-shirt, cashmere cardigan and flats or kitten heels...

Neither jetset chic or Hilton style  comfortable sweaters/pants (no skinnies) and flats (easy to take off)

haha i usually go on jeans and a cool tee with a sweater cause damn those planes are cold...but when i get on the plane i go in the washroom and put on my PJs

yes im 17, but i act like 10 year old lol

After years and years .. I think I came up with the perfect outfit:

*A nice turtleneck (any and you may consider to wear something underneath it, when at the plain I freeze, but always my origin or destination is a hot place)
* Jeans are not my fave .. sometimes I do, but I dunno why but I like to wear off-white colors to mend with the airport (yeah, Im weird)
*Leather messenger ... its KEY ... that way you can keep your wallet, tkts, documents/passport, mags/reading material, duty free stuff you bought and make up in one place and at hand at all times.
*Sunglasses are a must, but its because in here its always sunny
*I try to do a bit funky sometimes and wear a hat ... that way I can be recognized at the airport when traveling with other people.

Ok ... and the MOST valuable piece of advise. WEAR SOMETHING CLASSY.
Why? I used to work for an airline. If the flight is overbooked in coach, who are they gonna seat on FIRST CLASS/BUSSINESS? You got it! The person who looks the best! Moi!

Usually I try to look stylish of course, but I dress more for comfort when travelling.

oh wow the last thing i think about when i'm flying is what to wear! actually, that's not completely true because i do only in a different sense. i have to be as comfortable as possible.
my rules:
no shorts (the seats are usually itchy)
no long sleeved shirts
no skirts
no jeans
nothing thats the slightest big uncomfortable

so that pretty leaves me with a pair of sweats and a c&c top (sooo comfy, i have 3 for wearing out only and like 10 for sleeping/hanging out in that all have holes in them)

The last few times I've flown I wore stretch jeans, comfy leather boots (although I don't recommend this if you don't want to take them off to be x-rayed), a tank top, and a longer sleeved shirt over that. I carry a big bag (full of stuff) and a heavy coat (I'm always traveling to cold places  ). I always strive to look good while feeling comfy. Compliments from fellow travelers always make the plane ride better.^_^

I'll be flying for the second time in my life this June, so I'm going to look nice. Hair done, nice clothes. My youth director wants us in a t-shirt and shorts but if I'm going on an airplane, I want to look somewhat nice.

i'm generally in juicy sweats/hard tails, uggs/flip flops/birkenstocks, glasses (instead of contacts), and t-shirts.

depends on why you are flying
for me every time I fly is going home for holiday, the flying time is at least 12 hours, and I go straight home afterwards, so comfort is more important than anything else, simple t shirt with a zip hoody and baggy jeans works best for me

I live in a small town, so naturally airport in the city = exciting time to dress like the rest of the people in the world! ^_^ I've never had a problem with being uncomfortable, but I wonder as a spin-off question. What do you do when they make you take your shoes off at the airport and you aren't wearing socks? Wear socks with heels?

comfy but chic.. Maybe dark denim skirt and black or striped shirt with bright (red, cobalt, etc..) ballet flats and leather oversized handbag. Of course sunnies.

They don't make your walk around. They just check your shoes for bombs which takes 3 seconds and then they give them back.
