Depends on what mood I'm in on the day.

Most of the time nowadays I'm in jeans at the airport, then change into sweats on the plane. I just take an extra pair of tracksuit bottoms with me in hand luggage.

They don't make your walk around. They just check your shoes for bombs which takes 3 seconds and then they give them back.

Last time I was in the airport you had to take them off in the line for security, then walk through security without your shoes.

my airport style is:

generally things that are too large to put in my bag. i like carry-ons only so i wear the biggest pair of shoes i'm taking, whatever jacket goes with me and pants for sure.

most of the time when i travel i'm going some place where skirts and bathing suits is my wardrobe for the trip so carry-ons aren't an issue. taking one bag to amsterdam in the middle of december was tricky. i was layered like a polar bear.

Flying to New-Zealand on two 14 hour flights usually means i wear the most comfortable things i own!

I always fly with my most precious items layered on top of each other...I know it sounds pathetic, but I've lost my luggage a few times. I know one should really wear comfy shoes, but I normally opt for my heaviest pair to save in baggage weight. Last December I flew to New York and Tokyo in my heeled DH booties, the feet are still hurting...

I bring i-Pod, pillow, socks, blankets...the basics, oh and always a bottle of Mt Franklin/San Pellegrino, notebook, book and tissues. lol.

I'd usually like to wear a cashmere sweater over sweatpants. Ballet flats. Creme de la Mer. Sunglasses.

It all depends on the length of the flight. If it's only a few hours, "jet set chic." However, if it's overseas I always opt for comfort over style - but I resent the Paris Hilton comparison :p

I always try to look chic with a capital C, because there's always the possibility of an upgrade when you look groomed and refined (and are polite, of course). I don't actually own any expensive clothes or labels, but I am careful to buy clothing that is well tailored and made from good fabrics. My best advice is not wear anything tight, because flying can have a puffy, bloating effect - that's not a myth. After that, it's all common sense: don't wear sky-high heels, keep your hair out of your face, and jewellery/accessories to a minimum for increased mobility, and wear easy to remove layers in case you get hot or cold. I travel all the time, so I'm really the go-to expert on this matter, lol.

always a balenciaga weekender, i always wear jeans (black, blue, grey) and ALWAYS, wear a medium trench or something close to a trench over a sleevless tshirt/top...and flats....if i go back home to visit, where i usually arrive at 7pm and straight from the airport to my familys house where everyone i know is there...then i'll bring heels with me and put them on as soon as i arrive..come to think about it..i kinda repeat the same travel outfit over and over..sometimes if i go first class I see the same people who work at the lounge and i bet they say "wow she can afford first class but cant afford a new outfit" lol

comfy but still looking good please. i don't do sweats, so no vote for me... but i usually go with the funky look.

Chic usually means that sometimes you need to use synthetic fibres
which freaks me out on a flight b/c if there's a fire, that stuff will burn and stay on you!

no matter where i'm going - i always get cold on a plane -- so i dress in layers.

btw: all the flights i take are no shorter than 5hours.

- comfy jeans/comfy pants/linen pants --- which i must be able to hike up b/c if it's a charter flight the washrooms are usually 'not nice'.
- i bring a pair of legwarmers ... so when i remove my shoes and curl up, i can have my legwarmers for extra warmth.
- layered tops - with a funky sweater or long cardigan at the very top.
- a cashmere blend pashmina --- yes pashminas are out but i can use it as a scarf or as my own personal blankie.
- easy-to-remove shoes.
- socks -- or just the aforementioned legwarmers.

Jet set chic just makes me think of awful Michael Kors.

Im not even taking Paris Hilton as an option.

I don't know, plain ol' black tee and black jeans, white sneakers and lame luggage, im not in the mood of impressing anyone when im getting off an airplane...

Lululemon pants, tank, flips or something of the sort. I dress my age and comfortably.

uh im leaving tonight on an almost 14 hour trip..i have a question..where i am now is freezing..where im going to is boiling hot..what shoes do i were? meaning, im tempted to wear open toe since i have not in a longt ime and miss it..but its soo cold here i dont want to look stupid and i dont want to wear a heavy jacket n carry it around with me.......hmmm

my style depends on where i'm flying, how long the flight takes and personal mood :)
what are your must-haves in your hand baggage? mine are: iPod, mobile phone, bottle of water, book
UniQFashionista, i'd wear flats during the flight and take sandals or heels in your hand baggage which you can change when you arrive. where are you going to?

I love dressing nice...but at the airport who cares? chances are you'll be way more comfortable in sweats and a hoodie and hat...no one cares..don't waste a nice outfit on the plane!! save it to when you get to your destination!! or...I guess if it's a short flight for business or soemthign then dress nicely.

haha..

well on my trip to australia i wore:

from Toronto to HK..

vintage levis, vintage tee, and skull vans. but i changed into PJs on the plane lol, i creeped everyone out.

and from HK to Perth i wore..

jeans and a robe, and im not even kidding. there was a shirt underneath but i just chilled in my robe. courtesy of the HK airport hotel baby..

depends on the destination and season, but it's usually casual and comfy (with little bit of chic thrown in)

on my trip to HK during winter last year, i wore a trucker cap (in case of bad hair), an off-shoulder blouson, skinny jeans, and bronze ruched flats.
