hm, there have been so many good shows and i still have to let it all sink in.....
i'll post my ranking a bit later, i guess.

Marc by Marc jacobs...the good was great & the bad was dreadful...

was the only thing that really stood out for me on a larger scale of things...everything else looked pretty much the same and very mundane...

I also loved the sneaks...maybe that tipped it for me...

Boudicca
Catherine Malandrino
Zam Barret*

united bamboo

and, yes, scott, i think his name is zam barrett:P

after reflecting on the collections, my list would probably be much longer than that, but ok, here it goes:

1 Carlos Miele
2 J. Mendel
3 Vera Wang
4 Roland Mouret
5 Thakoon

(other outstanding collections were Matthew Williamson, Chaiken, Zac Posen, Alice Temperly.....)

I must say that I was most pleasantly surprised by Lacoste's collection. It doesn't even represent my style, and it's not my *favorite*, but some of the pieces are adorable.

1. Boudicca
2. Ralph Lauren
3. Luella
4. Catherine Malandrino
5. Vera Wang

This never happens, I had to force myself to fill the list. Normally I have to try to slim it down.

a few favorites.....

*marc by marc jacobs
*roland mouret
*narciso rodriguez
*zero maria cornejo
*donna karan
*mary ping

(i hope they show up in the right order...!)

....i'll be the first to admit i don't have a solid knowledge of the history of fashion and most of these designers' evolution with their craft.....but i do love the shapes and the colors and the movement....the 'feel' of it....and i know most people were very critical of this NY fashion week......but i found some beauty within most of it.....i'm sure i could very easily be talked under the table about the construction and the patterns and the quality.....but simply from my humble perspective of aesthetics and beauty, i thought there were some lovely pieces....

 :flower:

Not sure in what particular order to put them though.

I'm not a New York girl at all. The only collection that I really found stunning was roland mouret though I also liked Proenza and parts of Boudicca.

Catherine Malandrino
Derek Lam
Roland Mouret
Boudicca
Marc by Marc Jacobs(although the show wasn't up to par, the clothing in the boutiques is always outstanding...so I have to pick this)

...no specific order

...I cannot wait to get my hands on that last pair of trousers.

The three that really jump out to me are Roland Mouret, Temperley and Zac Posen.

In no order...

Luca Luca
Zaldy
Costello Tagliapietra
Carolina Herrera

Roland Mouret
Boudicca
Marc Jacobs

other then that I was utterly disappointed by the lack of creativity and the rut that so many American designers seem stuck in for so long. Enough with the pretty, flirty, girly, printed, sweet nauseating cliches!!!! Enough!

The few that actually have moved on just weren't me.

Boudicca, Roland Mouret and Costello Tagliapietra. Not a good season for New York imo.....
