A friend of mine has a high gloss/polished (two pack painted kitchen) like the ones in my posts above. And appearently they chip very very easily
I am hoping for the new kitchen to last me at least 15 years without having to replace the doors etc...
I'm now thinking of timber cupboards with a granite benchtop. What do you guys thing? Have you seen any nice examples? The only think is, we are having timber floors (parquetry) throughout the house and I am scared that the colours would clash or that it would look too woody

A room surrounded by windows. No cabinets or other things on the walls. An island in the middle that has the sink, gas burners, drawer fridges, and dishwasher built in. Pots and pans suspended from a ceiling arrangement. A few stools for sitting around and socializing while the cook works.

A connecting room with a similar set of windows and a long rectangular natural wood table. On one side would be a runner of drawers below the window that contains table linens and formal dishes. On the other side would be another runner containing a full bar.
