Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2014

That little orange-cream dress is really quite striking! A really interesting silhouette and something I can say I haven't seen before!

The rest is standard Zac fare.

The pattern making seems really interesting, but to me it doesn't manage to achieve the level of elegance and class that I believe he wants to create. There are some interesting pieces, but as a whole it's a boring collection. Less tacky than other times, but don't take that as a compliment.

I actually like how he's stuck to more matte fabrics this time around, it feels less hokey. It makes this collection more viable than the bizarre satin parade he usually runs. The orange sherbet dress is super interesting, but I fail to see how it will translate into non-editorial/lookbook settings, which is a shame because it's the most non-classically striking of the bunch. I love the combination of that deep purple with the fur in the last shot, it just screams lush.

 I think you're being too harsh on Zac. While it's really the same ole stuff from him, typical ZP, which is to say, over the top, self-serving, indulgent, I also think certain pieces are very pretty, very elegant, very posh.

I do find that he tends to latch on to certain couture-y elements from other recent collections. The somewhat sheer petticoat definitely calls to mind the Dior couture piece recently seen on Jennifer Lawrence.

It's similar in every collection of him but it seems this is his strongest suit which I find its beautiful.
