Zac Posen S/S 09 New York

Im confused by this collection I had to keep checking that it was really Zac not Cavalli or Blumarine, I do like some pieces very much like that metallic number on Sisley and the pale draped dresses, overall though not what Ive come to expect from Zac.

I just can't stand the hairdo! not to mention the makeup and oh..i can't even concentrate on the clothes.

Wow, this is more Cavalli than Cavalli's last season...
Hate it...and I taught last year's hair and make up were bad...

The clothing is not great but it's really not horrible but the hair and makeup and overall styling is horrible. Zac looked very good at the end of the show though. Here's a pretty bad review if you ask me from style.com

Zac Posen's show is always a scene. Tonight, he had Schnabel père et fille in one corner, Claire Danes and Jada Pinkett Smith in another, and Venus Williams and Serena Williams smack-dab in the middle—everywhere you looked there were flashbulbs popping. In seasons past, Posen has displayed a deft hand for tailoring, but that wasn't his focus here. Instead, there were mostly dresses with a few minis and suede biker jackets thrown in aimed at that other kind of 9-to-5er: the type who makes a business of party-hopping.

The viability of some of the frocks was dubious at best. Was that padding underneath the first Perspex-plated dress, or had Raquel Zimmermann suddenly put on a few extra inches around the hips? And how, exactly, is a girl supposed to sit down wearing all of that hard plastic and metal on her backside? But underneath the extensions, frosted lipstick, and shoulder-duster earrings were some leopard-print dresses that have a red carpet in their future.

It took me about 1/4th into the collection to actually start looking at the clothes because I was too distracted by how awful the hair and makeup was. Seriously. I'm glad I did, though, because I did end up seeing some things that I liked... however, I was not expecting to see this style coming from Zac Posen. If it weren't for the hair and makeup, this show would be pretty forgettable to me.

I'm a bit dissapointed... I was expecting more because the previous seasons were so good and beautiful... I don't like this collection so much... There's too much going on.

I like a couple of dress.
But the rest is quite awful.

I really don't like Zac Posen.
But I relatively like some of the pieces this season.
Love look two on post #3 though.

For me,i like some of them......but some of them are very scary.....

I think this is a bad collection & the models look awful.

wow...yuck.

not that I'm a fan of Posen but this is surprisingly bad.

and it's been said, but that hair and makeup are pretty gross.

ooh and I hate the earrings.

Hair and makeup certainly don't help, but this really is not as tacky as you guys make it out to be.

this is like Roberto Cavalli gone oh so wrong.

and the hair and makeup make everyone look like ********!

so NOT a way to sell your clothes, buddy.:innocent:

Something made me think of Tisci's (of Givenchy) approach with romanticism...

The images on the first page of this thread looked interesting though i think they look too "heavy" for a summer collection.

After watching a little more of it, the collection seems incoherent with too many ideias going on. The variety of silhouttes was fun to watch but definitely didn't help to set a mood for a "plot"..
