They have three stores in Toronto; the best one (I think) is on Bloor Street, the Eatons Center has a decent one and there is also a not-so-great one in Yorkville. Have fun! B)

Hi all!

Im in houston and there is a new store in the mall called Zara. I went today and actually got a job there. However, I dont know anything about their clothes or style. Has anyone shopped there or know about this store? Is it popular and is the quality of clothes any good? What other store can it be compared to?

thanks!

P.S. I have some gmail invites if anyone is interested... :flower:

what's a gmail invite?...

zara is awesome...my favorite mall store..great desogner styles at very very reasonable prices...

especially love their outerwear, shoes and accessories...

congrats..!!!

Umm, that's the store I would most like to work at. Other than maybe Chanel... All of their employees seem to be really experienced and well dressed and overall pretty perfect, at least to me. I am definately in awe of you getting a job there. Congradulations!
Their website's completely terrible though, they might have updated maybe two years ago at least. You should go to the store itself to get a better idea. The clothing's fantastic, but then, I'm slightly biased. They have a pretty good range of options, basic shirts that people like me can afford, as well as some more expensive items. This year they've gotten a whole bunch of gorgeous coats that are like $400... I'm starting to sound like an ad here. The clothing's fairly basic, but well made and higher end that the majority of mall fare. Also, they actually pay attention to some of the newer trends. For example, back when Marc Jacobs was doing the mod thing, they had all this clothing that very nearly could have come off the runway. I think I had better stop typing now...
Anyway, go you! :woot:

um..ok... ...so do i want one?... :innocent:

I think the quality of ZARAs clothing isn't all too great, but they do excellent designer knockoffs and have good sales. Its a bit pricer here in the States compared to Europe, where it's everywhere, sorta like GAP here. They have super fast production and are able to anticipate and respond to trends, so you can often see current season trends in the stores, unlike Banana Republic which is always 2 years late. Its quite popular here in NYC, I love some of their outerwear pieces...defintely a step up from your average, run of the mill mall store. I think their shoes are crap though, but for a season or trendy wear, why not? The price is right.....

I've heard some of the cuts for women are pretty unforgiving though...I know I can't fit into some of their pants for men.......

I defintely think you can do well working there and its funky, curious, have they opened up at the Houston Galleria? I wonder if they are expanding in the USA, I saw that a flagship store will be opening up here in NYC.

theory...what do you mean...flagship opening in nyc...we already have several zaras... :ermm:

They are opening a new store, on 5th and 54th at the end of this month. It's going to be ZARA's biggest Manhattan store.

aha...i didn't know...but i'll never go there...nosebleed city... ;)

i think there's a new H&M opeining next month to go with the lagerfeld launch...

It's not nosebleed city!

Fifth Avenue is quite democratic these days, with GAP, BR, etc. ZARA complements the block well, you act as if it's Madison and 70th :)

I don't make it south of 34th st much myself though......

Oh, the new H&M is probably the one next to Bloomingdales, in the new Bloomberg building, across from the soon to be opened new Home Depot :( :(
I didn't realize they were opening already, but I think that whole tower is just about complete. Guess we won't see ya there either......

Yes...I'll be working at the galleria store. its pretty big...i hear they promote within..and that the managers are also the buyers for the store..which is my ultimate goal...Oh to be a buyer...how wonderful that would be.

i love zara. my husband works there...:-) Zara is from Spain...

Yes, i like zara its a great shop, i don't really get much from there though a lot of their things don't fit me fantastically their usually too big, much like h&m but they have some nice stuff at zara and the staff are nothing but friendly :)

731 Lex??

I LOVE zara this season. I'm not usually that into it butI'm going to pick up some tan alligator stilletos, green tweed jacket with faux fox fur collar, and paisley print silk top. I got a Missoni print thick cardi today. It's so cheap but it looks high end, but I think it does depend on what stuff you buy. Some stuff looks it's price. But my mum's friend was saying it's even cheaper in Spain!

Well its a chain of stores! Here in Athens you can find a Zara anywhere! The quality isnt the best ever, but the have some quite good stuff if you are lucky to find them! The mens session isnt that good as that for women! The only thing i cant stand in Zara is that its always crowded!!! :(
