Beautiful girl - despite all the wicked rumours I've heard, plus that semi-nude beach photos scandal - I do like her. I would die for her hair... its soo long and silky and lovely!

BUT (and its a big one), I do think she is incredibly overrated acting-wise. She more or less tends to go for the same roles (either kick-a$$ b*tch or East Asian flower) so one can't really call her a great actress. There are about 3 trademark expressions that she always uses... as someone said early in the thread, there are hundreds more talented people in Asian showbiz, but she was just lucky enough to work with the big fish.

I don't deny she has something there but she is stealing the limelight from more talented people. Sorry Ziyi~ Had to be said.

True, but with that said, I can't think of any other Asian actress more talented in Hollywood at the moment (except for Gong Li and Rinko Kikuchi). Which speaks volumes about the lack of Asian actors in Hollywood.
Something else, why do they always have to go back to ASIA to search for 'Asian' actors...there's plenty in the West (US, Australia, Canada, etc) who can speak perfect English (then we wouldn't have the issue of accent that we often do).

I heard that she was dating the son/grandson of some HK billionaire previously? She got a lot of slack for it. I agree with lam123 that there is a consensus in opinion among the Chinese public that she's a gold-digger.
