I think they just use the opportunity to scout male models as well, the guys aren't being sent to the international final. The last Brazilian winner (Max Motta) went onto book the Dior Homme campaign.

“Fit FORD Model Super Model of Montenegro” Beauty Pageant Will Take Place in City Bar of Podgorica’s Hotel “Crna Gora”: Winner of tonight’s event will represent our country at the World Selection which will take place in Budva on 23 January. Event will be broadcast live by IN television, as of 9 pm tonight.
Podgorica- This year’s “Fit Ford Model - Super Model Of Montenegro” will take place in the “Gradska kafana” of Hotel “Crna Gora” tonight.
11 girls from all parts of Montenegro will participate in this selection. Audience will witness the beauty of Katarina and Tamara Borozan, Milena Draskovic, Aleksandra Golubovic, Zaklina Ikovic, Maja Jovanovic, Sandra Markovic, Jovana Micovic, Biljana Perkovic, Tijana Radonjic and Itana Saranovic.
Mathew Hunt, who will also direct this spectacle, will chair the jury.
Beside Marija Razic, program will also be presented by Tijana Miskovic¸Bosnia and Herzegovina’s Natasa Petrovic, Nikolina Pisek from Croatia, Rebeka Dremelj from Slovenia and Marija Kilibarda from Serbia.
According to Vesna Mandic, owner of Fashion Agency “Fabrika”, famous Serbian model, Jelica Macura would also appear this evening.
“We shall make sure that something new takes place every few minutes, in order to ensure that there are many surprises. Program is rather demanding, as we tried to make it not only entertaining, but also educative”, Mandic announced.
Winner of tonight’s event will represent our country at the World Selection which will take place in Budva on 23 January.
Event will be broadcast live by IN television, as of 9 pm tonight.

I would have thought it would make sense to hold the competition in New York.. center of the modeling universe.. but thats just me

FORD MODELS NEW YORK is a world renowned modelling agency that annually searches for the next supermodel. The winner of the South African leg of the competition will be sent to Budva, Montenegro in January 2009 to represent SA in the world finals.
A Ford Model representative from New York will attend the South African final at Fashion TV Cafe on Saturday 29 November 2008 as head of the judging panel. Should you not win the South African contest to represent South Africa in New York as the South African winner, you may still get a contract from Ford Models, New York or Ford Models, Europe.

*Fashion TV & Laurie Botha Productions have the right to publish and use the pictures of some of the entrants to promote the Ford Supermodel competition without payment to the entrant or her model agency, in any publication or TV program they see fit .
*R250 entry fee. Cheques/Postal orders to be made out to "Ford Supermodel S.A."
*The South African winner will be selected at the South African final on 29 November 2008 at Fashion TV Cafe, Sandton, Johannesburg.
* All the finalists must be available from Friday 28 November 2008 to Saturday 29 November 2008 for the South African final at Fashion TV Cafe, Sandton.
*Laurie Botha Productions will inform the South African finalists, by telephone.
*Photographs will not be returned.
