i´m not a huge fn of lilian harvey but i love love this picture.just at the beginning of her carreer...

and the extraordinary alla nazimova...she brought a whole new acting style on the screen-camille and salome are masterpieces as a whole,works of art.the decor ,the clothes,her stylized way of acting.she could have revolutionized silent cinema,but i guess she was too eccentric for hollywood..perhaps they also found her private life more interesting than her work.her "garden of alla" was infamous...

alice terry.one of my favourites.the softness of her face seems to even the harder edges of life.i only saw her once in "the 4 horsemen of the apocalypse".
she was one of the few who stayed with her husband,the diector rex ingram, until his death.(she always wore a blonde wigs while shooting.naturally she had auburn hair but it didn´t "photograph well".)

sweet and bubbly marion davies.she was such a great comedienne (show people) but often put in the wrong films : dramas-by her life-long lover publisher hearst

mae murray the girl with "the bee stung" lips.i´ve wanted to watch merry widow for ages....marion davies did a great parody of her in show people

ahh,that you posted her.dreams do come true.i love olga baclanova even though i´ve seen her only in 2 films- the docks of new york and freaks.in docks she had a only supporting role but she outshone betty compson (even though her performance in this film was great too).a great actress,unique in every way.
