Thoughts; where was the couture? All we heard leading up to tonight was the return of glitz and glamour, but I felt everyone looked relatively safe and toned down. I thought Marchesa had two great dresses, but Jessica Alba near destroyed hers with that hair and the gaudy earrings. Hilary Swank chose another boring black Atelier Versace from a collection full of brilliant gowns.

Tilda Swinton is probably the best looking woman of the night for me, alongside Anne Hathaway, Marion Cotillard, and Nicole Kidman. Jennifer Garner and Cameron Diaz both wore pretty, if boring gowns, yet they looked beautiful all around. I was hoping for a real fashion moment here, a drop-dead Valentino or a risky Chanel.
