2008 Academy Awards

Has anyone mentioned Daniel Day-Lewis? I'm probably one of few very, very in love with him (considering he's about fifty) but he looked classy and plain charming last night. Not to mention you get extra style points for being knighted by Helen Mirren, imo.

I think Hilary Swank had the best dress. It didn't loook good on her, but the dress itself was marvelous.

I wouldn't call pirate earrings classy and plain.:lol:

excuse me but for one thing tilda swinton is scottish with red hair and being from scotsirish blood myself, even in america,we are paler than most people. and why the hell shouldn't she embrace it? no one said anything about that boring hatheway girl. in fact they kept lamenting her! and i loved that tilda didn't wear make-up....she didn't need to. she has such stunning, poreclain features that could never be outdone by something as trite as make-up.

I agree Scott! I guess for the so-called experts as well as others it must be difficult to understand what Tilda Swinton and/or Alber Elbaz is doing. This woman is intelligent & modern & no matter what she wears she carries herself with great style. How wonderful that she has the confidence to do that w/out succumbing to the so-called Hollywood old glamour style which I find boring & repetitive.

i absolutely love daniel day lewis. i've always loved him and im so happy that he won but regarding his look last night: the hair has to go. he's still looking hot even if he's not a boy anymore, but the hair was WRONG

I have not yet seen a very good picture of Anne Hathaway's earrings.

@ http://www.harrywinston.com --> click on #6 in jewels/earrings. Called "studs on wires," they are round diamond studs on wires with "pink accents"

I think they might the ones she wore.

i love that a lot of the actresses seemed to be embracing their natural skin tones and weren't overly tanned..

tilda swinton and ann hathaway are two of the more obvious ones who embraced their pale skin..
cate blanchett and nicole kidman as well.. (though they always do, which is great)
ellen page also isn't giving in to the hollywood fake bake..

I don't know if it's listed or not, but Calista Flockhart was wearing vingtage Valentino- it's on the rare vintage site. :flower:
