YAY, So happy Beyonce didn't win that one. Go Taylor. Though I kinda wanted Gaga to get something. I know she won two Dance categories, but I wanted to see her up on the stage. She looked kinda annoyed when Taylor won, lol.

initially i thought taylor did not deserve that but she sold ALOT of albums last year so at least in some measure it makes sense.

Do you really think sales warrants a grammy win!? If so there was several other people in that category who sold a lot more than her worldwide.

yes she did, but at least she won before the show. It was one year where India Arie was nominated for a bunch of Grammies and didn't win a single one.

Yeah....in terms of true musicality dave matthews probably should have won.... but like someone said...you have to see the Grammys for what they are and what they're trying to reward....which is mainstream popularity and success. and fair enough, i think....there are other award shows and other forums for recognising more alternative music or independent musicians....it's unrealistic to expect the Grammys to be that imo.

and so i'm not surprised that Taylor won....and for what the Grammys are and what she's done in 2009, she does deserve it. she wrote every song on that album, toured endlessly and reached out to an enormous fan base.....she can't really sing....we've all established that....but there's a whole lot more to being a successful musical artist these days than being able to sing unfortunately... it's a business, and in terms of business i think she had the most successful year... she's been everywhere.. for whatever reason she has been wildly successful and her music has dominated radio... and i think that's what they're recognising... sheer volume of commercial success and popularity, and we can't deny she had plenty of that !

And i don't know why....because she can't sing and i don't think it's fair....but i still kind of like her and am happy for her success...

Oh and the Grammy's are not supposed to be about how much copies you sold.That's the reason we have the Billboard awards.Stevie Wonder,Norah Jones,Laury Hill,Outkast,U2 among other won album of the year .Taylor's album don't even come close to any of those albums.Major Fail,I don't hate her but come on now

I think Taylor got the "sympathy kanye west made me cry" vote. That award should have gone to Gaga or Bey. I'm not saying she didn't write her own stuff or can't sing but wtf?
