From what I read on the "solar maximums" on that NASA link posted earlier, if that's true then the Northern Lights should be really intense.
Now I know where I'll be at the "end"!

one week before the end of the world I'll go to Ibiza for a happy ending !
lol.gif

After this thread reaches its climax, I'd love it if tFS became breeding ground for doomsday prophets! Would definitely give the fashion world a whole new edge :D

Ok, I just had a brilliant idea. Lets all sell our houses/cars/valuables and buy the biggest yacht imaginable on December 1, and party in St.Tropez for 21 straight days.

Err I came back on here after ages for a depressing reason, and the first thread that crossed my eyes was this depressing one. In some ways I wish we all knew and we could all be with our friends and families and we could all see it through together. But that'll never happen.

i believe 2012 will be beautiful. human consciousness being raised.. a flooding out of evil.. a better, more intense existance for all.. I guess if you could look at it positive or look at it negative, why not choose the positive?

What a brilliant way to look at it! Thank you! Honestly:blush:, I was getting a little freaked out, but I'd much rather take your approach. :flower::heart:

Well there goes me showing during fashion week when I complete all my studies.

I remembered when my mother told me, when she was a little child there was a perdiction. The end will arrive in the year 1984. LOL

I can't stand watching the History Channel these days. I've noticed a lot of times, they do these biblical story telling, putting in creationism....blah, blah, blah. And these so-called-scientists on that show aren't really "scientists" if you know what I mean? When you combined "biblical teachings" and "scientists" together, usually they are "creastionists". Creationists are NOT scientists.

Will the Earth spontaneously blow up? Who really knows? My opinion, the Earth will outlast us humans. As for the human race. We will have religious wars. Wars to have more land, wars to have more food, and wars for drinking WATER. That's how I feel the human race will die out, because of human abuse to the earth and to eachother.

Weren't we all supposed to be dust come the year 2000? Y2K anyone?!

I won't even get to finish college. :o

I would actually prefer it be the end of the world than the end of time, because more than likely (going with Christian doctrine here, considering that the only one I really know), either Satan is going to come back and start chopping off people's heads and witchunting the religious, or we will all revert back to hunter/gatherer times. I don't want either!
What's this part about witch hunting the religious?
I only heard about the devil coming in the form of something benign

there's also a part where it says it's a giant sea monster with many heads:p

There will definately be one sort of end of the world. 2012 Olympics. In London. THOUSANDS of tourists and crowds and congestion. Ugh. Even the apocalypse is afraid.

Hmmm I didn't see the show, but about the natural disasters point, the Christian faith also believes that around Christ's second coming (aka end of the world/armageddon, whatever you want to call it) there will be a large scale series of natural disasters preluding his coming that will wipe out a big portion of the Earth. So then NASA and the bible and the history channel all agree, sort of, how the earth is going to end, but I'm kind of skeptical about the dates. Personally i'm just going to live life as I always have and not worry about it. The bible has a whole bunch of prophecies that haven't been fulfilled (which is needed for the series of natural disasters to happen) and won't be for a while, so I wouldn't worry too much.

I always find these things so fascinating and intriguing. I guess it is human nature for us to have urges to predict such things. But when everything is laid out so nicely and in an organized manner, THANKS HISTORY CHANNEL, it does make you a bit scared. But it has been nice everyone. Good riddance :flower:

Nothing brings down the mood quiet like impending doom.

Man this freaks this sh*t out of me

Skeptics, comfort me with your logic!

Well, anything is possible... yes? I find it wrong to scare people out of their whits because of a milestone like 2000, but December 21 is such a random date.

I don't believe this. It's scary when the cold facts are thrown at your face, but hell, many things have been predicted before, some have happened, most haven't.

So i'll just sit and wait, better catch me off guard than acting a lunatic waiting for it to happen.

Hopefully, its just all of us to be debt free and start with a million dollars on our accounts.

It's actually not such a random date. I'm no expert, but it has something to do with the Mayan calendar and 12/21/2012
