A. P. C.

^ I see a lot of floral and grandma-inspired sweaters/pull-overs *shudder* I just don't know what to think about this collection

The Madras website is so not user-friendly, gives me a headache. I think A.P.C has lost their touch... A few pieces in the madras collection have potential though.

Agreed on the website, it's awful!

I always find the shape of their tunic tops and dresses very adorable, but the prints are a bit much. The plaid one is kinda cute, but the flowery, liberty print is way too precious in those shapes for me.

^ A word of warning re: APC's crepe-soled boots...I bought a pair a couple of years ago...the leather's still in great shape...and the soles look to be...but for some reason the soles started holding water (like a sponge) last Winter. They're not worn down...no holes...they just suddenly started retaining water in the rain

so sorry to hear that ...
:(

but one question, though : have you taken yr shoes before winter to a shoe repairer ?
you can do it before autumn and winter (i'm doing it 2 weeks after buying a new pair of shoes). go to a shoe repairer to remake the sole ! prefer a plastic sole ! it prevents from these kind of problems !;)

Apc jeans are great for an entry level designer jean. The fall 09 mens and womens collection look great. I think the jackets were very well done.
Best,
Mauro

Thanks! I prefer the mens collection...womens collection is boring...

^ I agree! I'd buy half of the items in the men's collection...The sweaters and pants are lovely

I agree, I don't particularly like the women's spring collection in general, although I did end up purchasing this shirt and parka.

I love the way they are styled, the model looks so cute (and I want her hair!)

^Part of why I dislike this collection is the styling on the APC website which is dreadful whereas lagarçonne just gets it right!

Great picks Tourist!

yes the styling on the apc spring collection 2010 does not look that good - lagarconne is much better!

^ tourist, i ordered the same parka :)

does anyone know who styled these last few seasons? they all have a similar awkward vibe that i assume is intentional, kind of anti-fashion. but i think there are a lot of really nice pieces here, all the same.

just imagine camille bidault-waddington wearing any of the clothes, and they make more sense. like the red jumpsuit, i'm sure she would really sex that one up.

Funny you mention Camille Bidault-Waddington, because she is the one who's styled the last several APC collections. I assume she did the styling this season as well.

thx classicalbang i was wondering if it was still her...

i was thinking of this 2007 lookbook...
the way she wears the clothes - they look a lot less gamine and more sophisticated...
which is cool bc it's something i don't usually associate with APC...
i wish she would bring back some of that feeling...

btw it's funny to compare her recent soft-core 'purple haze' candids with this very demure & clunky apc styling...:ninja:
