They're doing a movie on her? That's sort of bad timing, after this B.I.G. movie, but can someone post a picture of the woman set to play her?

only 3 pages bout her. shame.

she was legendary. definitely one of the most gorgeous women to have ever graced the showbiz.

if it wasn't for that accident, she'd totally be the HBIC these days and not Beyonce.

Can't believe it's been 8 years today since she passed :( To me her spirit, timeless beauty and music live on forever!!!!

It's officially Aaliyah day today for me :)

She was such a beautiful woman, and I loved a lot of her songs. I think she was wonderful in Queen Of The Damned as well.

She did an AMAZING job in that movie! So effortless and regal in it :)

Aaliyah was the only reason i watched it and she stole the film lol :D

I know right? Time flies. :( It makes me sad but time must move on. Thanks for the article, maybe I'll read it later. If it's not too depressing.

And thank you Anck_Su_Namun_x for the photos from TQOTD. I remember going to see it in theaters, and loving her performance. She was obsessed with vampires in real life.

R.I.P. Aaliyah.

It's almost unbelivable how much time has past.:( Everything about her was just so unreal.
Thanks for the link and pics VersaceLuva586 and Anck_Su_Namun_x

I heard that there is supposed to be a biopic/movie about her life releasing sometime this year.

Aaliyah Biopic In The Works - Jan 26, 2009

Late last year, it was announced that a bio-pic would be created detailing the life and death of deceased singer Aaliyah Haughton.

A movie based on the life of Aaliyah is in the works. The film's source states that the bio-pic, "will be going very deep into Aaliyah's life" and will allow fans the opportunity to see the "most intimate side of Aaliyah's legacy." And according to the source, the bio-pic will also focus on the singer's marriage to R. Kelly.

Documents recovered by Vibe Magazine stated that R. Kelly and Aaliyah were married in 1994 when the singer was only 15-years-old.
In the film, Aaliyah will be played by Canadian-singer Keshia Chante.

"Aaliyah inspired me and an entire generation," Keshia Chante said in a statement. "She was stunning, effortless and was capable of so many things. This is a hard undertaking, I have big shoes to fill but I am committed, determined and will train to the very end to master this role. I want Aaliyah's fans and admirers to be proud of this film and feel like it was the best interpretation possible of our babygirl. I refuse to disappoint."

The actress is already undergoing extensive training which includes studying, speaking with family member's, and training with Aaliyah's former choreographer and friend Fatima Robinson.

Other friends of Aaliyah's who will also help with production for the film include Timbaland, Missy Elliot, Ginuwine and Hype Williams.

Directed by Dreamgirls director Bill Condon, Aaliyah's biopic will begin production some time this year.

On August 25, 2001 Aaliyah and eight other passengers were killed when the twin engine plane they were on crashed shortly after taking off from Abaco Island, Bahamas. Aaliyah had just finished filming her video for "Rock The Boat".

I've always loved Aaliyah and I can't believe it's been 8 years since since she passed away. She was much more raw as an artist compared to other female R&B stars and wonderful vocals. She was a beauty.

My favourites are "4 Page Letter", "Are You That Somebody" and "Miss You".

I'm not a big fan of hers (actually not a fan at all), but i think out of all the young, female r&b artists out there, Aaliyah was one of the first to experiment out of the safe zone for her usual audience. Her last album, which I had to review, was a departure compared to other artists similar to her at that time. People now credit Beyonce or Rihanna for "trying" to be innovative (oh please..) but they seemed to be afraid to experiment until it seemed safe to. Aaliyah did it before they did, so I have more respect for her as an artist

Time truly does pass by so fast. Aaliyah was an great artist and seemed like a great person. Her life was cut short but her memory will live on. I was always a fan of her music and during part of my teen years I took on her earlier look somewhat. ^_^

I can't believe it's been 8 years *sigh* It's so strange to think what would have been had she been alive. I think she would have delved more into movies and supposedly there was going to be a clothing line. I don't know but I do miss her and her presence on the music scene.

May she continue to rest in peace.

I was really glad i found this thread yesterday and thought it was cool to bring it to life again ^_^

Even on Twitter, Aaliyah was the number one Trending Topic yesterday with me trying to help her stay there lol.

Aaliyah has alot of  at TFS

She really was one of the most beautiful singers in my opinion. Just pure raw beauty! She doesn't need a lot of make-up or airbrushing or anything. and in interviews and the way fellow musicians/friends/actors spoke about her, she seems like one of those people that would walk into a room and just fill it with life and happiness! Does anybody have any more pictures of her with damon dash or jay-z or missy elliot etc? also i think that pretty much any other artist who wore the clothes she did would look cheap and nasty. but she just looked drop dead gorgeous. she had a girl next door quality. RIP Aaliyah xxxx
