With her hair slightly less blond than the shade she's been sporting for the past couple months, Kate Winslet seemed to be going for a more conservative than sexy look. To get this point across, makeup artist Jillian Dempsey kept Winslet's eyes classic, lining her upper lids with Jillian Dempsey for Avon Professional Kohl Eyeliner in Black, then smudging a dark brown liner on the lower lashes before adding a dusting of Lancôme Color Design Eye Shadow for subdued, allover color. A custom blend of several shades of coral and peachy blushes were responsible for Winslet's glow. (style.com)

The 48-year-old looked like her 25-year-old self thanks to an impressive tan, what we can only assume is a bunch of (very well done) Botox, and makeup artist Jo Strettell's expert touches of Dior 5-Colour Eyeshadow in Earth Reflection, a light application of Diorskin Nude Foundation accented with Dior Pro Cheeks in Catwalk Pink, and Dior Addict High Shine Lipstick in Casual Beige, topped off with the brand's Ultra-Gloss Reflect in Lurex Plum. According to NARS makeup artist Matthew Van Leeuwen, Salma Hayek chose her marble-hued Bottega Veneta dress to counterbalance a makeup look that "popped." As such, Van Leeuwen made Hayek's eyes the focus, applying NARS China Blue Single Eyeshadow, a navy shade rather than a black, as a liner. For the cheeks and lips, she used fresh colors like NARS Desire Blush and Laguna Bronzer and NARS Marnie Lipliner Pencil and Tutti Fruity Lipstick.(style.com)

"It is always my intention to make the look classic when I do an awards show," says makeup artist Kate Lee, who made Anne Hathaway the poster child for her mantra last night. Complementing the Rachel Getting Married star's alabaster skin with a dark raspberry lip courtesy of Chanel Hydrabase Lipstick in Lotus Rouge, Lee made sure to keep Hathaway's complexion on the right side of porcelain with a dusting of Lancôme Absolue Powder in Absolute Peche on the top of her cheekbones, along her jaw line, and at the clavicles, while using slate eye shadow and multiple coats of mascara to accentuate her doe eyes. If you're still reeling from the sight of January Jones' matte tangerine-red lip and the most perfect bronzer you've ever seen in a shade somewhere between pink, apricot, and gold, we're here to help. Makeup artist Rachel Goodwin coated Jones' lips with Chanel Rouge Allure in Dazzling and added just the slightest hint of soft bronze along her brow and cheekbones with Chanel 4 Facettes Bronzing Powder—which, sadly, doesn't launch until April (the agony!).(style.com)

Angelina Jolie's floor-length Versace dress, soft side part, and next-level bone structure made easy work for makeup artist Mary Burton. Opting for a sheer, natural look, Burton put most of her energy into Jolie's eyes, using Lancôme Artliner in Noir to line her lashes and two different mascaras—Lancôme Courbe Virtuôse in Black and Lancôme Ôscillation in Black—to add drama, length, and volume. A touch of Lancôme Color Design Blush in Model Mocha on Jolie's cheeks and Lancôme Juicy Tubes in Spring Fling for a pale pink, glossy lip finished the look.(style.com)

this is one of my fave oscar looks ever!!

Makeup artist Angela Levin did the Chanel makeup for french actress Marion Cotillard. Beauty inspiration-”My inspiration was Marion’s pearly white dress with hints of gold and silver. The intricate petal-like design reminded me of a flower. And of course, I was inspired by La Vie en Rose!”
Beauty tip-to give Mario a refined, ethereal look, Angela used the copper and pink-gold shadows from the Multi-Use Makeup Palette in Lumiere Naturelle on her lids. She applied Sheer Brilliance in Sunkissed to Marion’s skin, giving her complexion a sheer sun-kissed glow. On her cheeks, Angela brushed on Powder Blush in Narcisse, a pale delicate pink. She finished the look with Aqualumiere Sheer Colour Lipshine is Somoa, a copper-rose shade. (talkingmakeup.com)

Makeup Artist Angela Levin did the makeup for actress Nicole Kidman. Beauty Inspiration-”My inspiration was Nicole! She already had an amazing, natural radiance, which made her an easy canvas to work with.”
Beauty tip-The focus of Nicole’s sultry look was her eyes. Angela used deep, rich shades to give Nicole a dramatic, smoky eye. To achieve this look she brushed Soft Touch Eyeshadow in Silvery and Ebony on the lids. she then lined the eyes with Intense eye Pencil in Graphite and Noir to make them stand out. As always, Angela used her favorite Chanel product, Inimitable Mascara in Noir-Black. She finished the look with a pale, natural pink lip Rouge allure in Darling. (talkingmakeup.com)

heidi klum at last years academy awards. i did not think that this look was particularly good. it looked too gummy to me. (of course we are all used to klum being airbrushed)

Victoria’s Secret makeup artist Linda Hay used Victoria’s Secret So Sexy hair products and Very Sexy Makeup to complete Heidi’s look.Heidi’s Makeup was inspired by her gown. Makeup artist Linda Hay focused on the eyes, the absence of color and neutral lip. The skin was sun-kissed with a beige/bronzy look from head to toe using a mix of Victoria’s Secret Bare Bronze Gleaming Self Tan Tint and Victoria’s Secret Daily glow Moisturizer to her whole body and a light sweep of Ooh La La Shimmer Powder to line her legs, arms and shoulders. For Heidi’s face, Linda used tinted moisturizer to even out her complexion and a little concealer around the eyes and nose. A light dusting of translucent powder and Goddess Bronzer to shape and contour her face.Next, she applied individual lashes to top and bottom lashes and about 4 or 5 applications of Victoria’s Secret Very Voluptuous Black Mascara. To make the eyes pop up even more, she used Sparkling White Eye Pencil. The lips kept matte. Linda use Ginger Spice to line her lips and filled them with a combinations of Whisper and Spontaneous.
    (talkingmakeup)
For Heidi’s eyes, Linda used Black Velvet Eye Pencil to draw a very thin line on the top lash line. Then using the 2 lighter Charcoal colors in the Satisfied Eye Very Sexy Mosaic Palette, she lightly smudged the the pencil and drew in the crease. Linda used the white shadow in the Mosaic palette to highlight right underneath the brow line and dot at the inside corner of the eye. Underneath, she also added a thin sweep of lightest silver to gently define the eye.
