I thought it was ridiculously overdone. I'm a huge beatles fan ( as some of you may have noticed from my username ) and I thought this movie ruined some of my favorite songs. I will say that Let It Be and Girl were performed beautifully. The rest of the movie was just so predictable.
Also, all of the special effects seemed to be a distraction. The special effects themeselves weren't...so special. Pretty basic looking if you ask me, but they managed to distract the audience from the fact that there was no character development or much of a plot to begin with.
jim sturgess did a good job but joe anderson was amazing. his version of hey jude made me tear up a little bit.
i agree with FogUponLA though. the movie could've been a lot better if more time had been spent on characters/plot development instead of the special effects. i appreciate the psychedelic feel they tried to create, but most of the time i was just wondering wtf was going on.
I had yet to comment on this thread, but I watched the movie for the first time a few days ago and I loved it. Granted, they could have worked on the characters a bit more BUT the mood and cinematography is pure genius You have to agree that it was extremely beautiful to look at. And the songs, well... they are epic.
I have to admit though that I shed a few tears during Let it be And during Don't Let Me Down....
Saw this movie for the first time over the weekend. It was okay, but if my friends at school hadn't made it sound as amazing as the second coming of Christ, I think it would have been a bit better.
